Consent Awareness Training ✨

As you will be aware, the Union has released consent awareness and active bystander training for all CSP committee members. If you have not done so, please refer to the Student Activities & Development Newsletter for information on this.

A friendly reminder that the training on eActivites must be completed before 5pm on Friday 14th October or else your eActivities access will be revoked until done so. 

The Union has provided an opt-out form should you feel uncomfortable completing this training.  All information on this can be found in the newsletter.

The Union will be releasing a feedback form regarding this training later this week.  If you have any urgent queries regarding it, you can contact your sports vice chair, in confidence, or you can directly email Dylan - Deputy President Clubs & Societies (dpcs@ic.ac.uk) or Nathalie - Deputy President Welfare (dpwelfare@ic.ac.uk).

Sports Club Culture 🏅

As welcome week comes to a close and you begin running regular activities as a club, we would like to ask you to keep in mind how your club can stay inclusive and safe for all.

The Union has unfortunately had some issues during welcome week with clubs not acting respectfully and in an appropriate manner towards club members, staff, and the wider community/general public.  Whilst these incidents are infrequent and do not affect the majority of sports players, we always want to promote a positive and enjoyable sports experience for all and we hope you do to!

By no means are we asking that you don't have fun - social events are, and always will be, an enourmous part of being a sports player - but please remember to consider those around you.

Chairs - Ultimately, the responsibility to uphold your clubs values and standards lies with you!

IC Radio are looking to work with sports clubs by broadcasting commentary of their games and competitions on air.  They are looking for clubs who wish to participate and for commentators to join their commentary team.  This is a great opportunity to promote your club and get your members involved in the wider community!  If you or your club would be interested, please get in contact with icradio@ic.ac.uk.

Sports Sector General Meeting 📅

Sports sector management group met last week in a general meeting.  These meetings allow every sports club to raise issues and questions to the Union.  If you were interested in what was discussed, you can find the minutes of the meeting below.

These meeting minutes and other issues raised by club chairs are taken to the Clubs, Societies & Projects Board (CSPB) every month, and can have a real, positive impact on development of activities at Imperial College Union.

If you have anything you would like to be raised at the next meeting please let your club chair know, or send it directly to sport.sector@imperial.ac.uk.  If there's anything more urgent, please contact your vice chair!
