Hi <<First Name>>,
Welcome back to all sports committee members!  Please have take the time to read through this email with updates for the first week.

Welcome Fair 👋

Welcome fair is running tomorrow, Tuesday 4th October, from 10am to 4pm.  Please arrive on time to set up your stall if you're running one!  The fair is a fantastic opportunity to showcase your club and get members signing up straight away so make sure you've always got somebody on your stand to represent your club!

Trials & Give it a Go Sessions 👟

Competitive trials have been booked and all club chairs should have received confirmation of this.  There is a slight backlog on Give it a Go session approvals but please rest assured that this will be resolved shortly.  Any queries regarding this please contact your sports vice chair.

Halloween Sports Night 🎃

The first ACC Sports Night is on Wednesday 26th October at 8pm!
The theme is, unsurprisingly, Halloween 👻 and tickets will go on sale Friday 7th October at 12pm midday.

In addition to this, the union has rebranded "CSP Wednesdays" with every Wednesday now being dedicated to a big club night.  Some of these will be student-led like the Halloween event, and others will be Decibel, the new union-ran club night!  Find out more here.

This Wednesday! 🎉

The union's event this Wednesday, the neon party, has sold out.  We understand that after the first Wednesday of playing sports, you may want to go out and enjoy yourselves, be that at the famous Slug in Fulham, or another venue outside of the union.  We kindly ask that when you do so you remember that you may be clearly recognisable as Imperial College sports players and to act in an appropriate manner.  Have fun!

Minibus Tests 🚐

Want to drive a minibus for your club?  If you’re interested in becoming a Union approved driver, then you’ll need to meet certain criteria as well as complete a theory test and a practical test.  Tests are being ran approximately every two weeks.  Find out more about becoming a driver and minibus tests on the union site.

Sports Sector General Meeting 📄

The first sports sector general meeting is on Thursday 6th October at 18:00.
Attendance is expected from every club (usually the chair, but any committee member may be a representative).
Check out the agenda and details on the Sports Sector 2022/23 Team under the Meetings channel.

Memberships (for treasurers) 💸

A friendly reminder that grant allocations are awarded proportionally to your clubs membership.  Once you hit your target membership, your full grant is awarded.  Special congratulations to tennis, table tennis, and badminton who have already surpassed membership targets! 🎉  All committee members must have membership - this will be checked.

A few clubs have raised questions regarding VAT rates on memberships.  If you have not done so already please make the membership products with the VAT code as S1-Sales standard rated (20%).  The union finance team will check memberships and reduce the VAT rate on them as appropriate.  Shop items that are solely contributing to exempt activities can be sold as exempt.

Outstanding Documentation (for principal officers) ⚠️

The deadline for CSP documentation was October 1st.  Any outstanding documentation must be submitted immediately or else your club may not be able to run.  Check out the Essential CSP Documentation & Tasks page for info.
Best wishes for your first week!
