For the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic began, Lane hosted the quarter one Art Show on Oct. 26. Many students turned out right after school, enough to fill the room, and appreciation abounded as people took in the creations of their classmates. Art was organized along every wall including textiles, collages, paintings, drawings and photography, while smaller scale sculptures lined a table on the far side of the room. Editor-In-Chief Saskia McDonogh Mooney has more on the experience and the effort that went into the show.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and this year at Lane, students are continuing to make an effort to support families and individuals impacted by tge disease. Pink ribbons can be found around the school and this year saw the refounding of a Breast Cancer Awareness club called Think Pink Club. On Oct. 26, the club helped host a school-wide pink out, followed by pictures in the auditorium after school. Editor-In-Chief Megan Mesikapp has more on Lane’s effort to recognize this awareness month.

Happy Halloween from The Champion! This year our staff have compiled some of their favorite spooky movies to enjoy this spooky season. The movies include “The Addams Family,” “Scream,” “Corpse Bride,” “Jennifer’s Body” and “Paranorman.” A&E Editor Nina Figurelli and Reporters Annie Fenner and Amanda Opel dive into why these movies are worth watching.
