A rise for Lane students in some SAT scores, purchasing orders for security and printing and the PPLC researching block scheduling at Lane were just a few of the things discussed at the LSC meeting this past Thursday, Dec, 8, the last meeting before the calendar flips to 2023. Editor-In-Chief Megan Mesikapp has more on all that was discussed.

The Lane Alpha program displayed its talent in the cafeteria this past week on Dec. 8, at the Alpha Science Fair. Projects ranged from studying the effect of tone on placebo to testing the effects of man-made chemicals on algae. The day was full of support, excitement and nerves as students presented and were judged on their projects. Despite the stress, many are glad to have made it to this point with the support of their mentors and teachers and to be able to demonstrate just how hard they’ve worked. A&E Editor Nina Figurelli goes into further detail on the highlights and experiences of the event.

“Recognizing that a journal doesn’t have to be a collection of adverse events is critical to accepting the benefits that may materialize. Noting fulfilling moments, days and people create a log of growth and a new way of registering the good in life. A journal can even be useful just for the purpose of recalling the wild tales of high school. There’s a certain excitement that comes with thinking that I’ll have these memories written down so that I can read through them when they’re forgotten. I like that I have a chance to process experiences in the moment and then look back on them and still gain more insight on my maturity,” writes Reporter Annika Northey in her piece on the benefits of bullet journaling.
