Join us for an update on the progress of the first year of the 14 Forward program and hear from keynote speaker Dr. Stephen Cambone, Associate Vice Chancellor for Cybersecurity Initiatives, Texas A&M University System. Dr. Cambone served as a senior official in DOD from 2001-2006, including as Director of Program Analysis and Evaluation (PA&E) and as the first Undersecretary of Defense for Intelligence.

Texas A&M University-Central Texas Update

Demographic Study


RKG Associates, the firm hired by the 14 Forward Foundation to conduct an economic analysis of the City of Killeen and the KISD service area, has provided a first draft of the study. 14 Forward staff and the working group that developed the study RFP are reviewing the draft and will share with investors once it is complete.
14 Forward staff met with Science, Technology, and Advanced Research (STAR) Park staff at Texas State University to learn about governance and best practices. The visit was part of continuing work to develop a research park at TAMUCT. 

Staff is also working with TAMUCT to develop marketing material to help promote current and future research capabilities at the university.

Heart of Texas Defense Alliance (HOTDA) Quarterly Report




HOTDA has released its 3rd Quarter report for Fiscal Year 2018. The report covers April-June 2019 time period and is an assessment of the intentions, educational level, skills, employment desires, and suggestions to improve the Central Texas region's "Quality of Place" for Soldiers leaving military service at Fort Hood, Texas. City of Killeen takes strides in increasing bandwidth

The City of Killeen is looking to recruit new internet service providers and increase bandwidth. It is a move that could be a boost for businesses and the community as a whole.

“Currently, we’re under the U.S. average in this part of the world and in Killeen, in particular, we want to raise the standard,” said John Crutchfield, of the Greater Killeen Economic Council

KTMPO Gives Nod To Fund Widening US. 190 Bypass

The U.S. Highway 190 bypass expansion from two lanes to four around Copperas Cove is now one step closer to becoming a reality, after a Dec. 12 meeting of the Transportation Planning Policy Board of the Killeen Temple Metropolitan Planning Organization.

Of the top five projects prioritized for funding by KTMPO’s TPPB, two are for Copperas Cove, the U.S. 190 bypass widening and railroad underpass projects on F.M. 116.

14 Forward Presentation


GKCC Chair Meredith Viguers gave an update on 14 Forward activities to the Killeen City Council on January 8. The presentation was well received and has resulted in media coverage for the 14 Forward campaign and Greater Killeen Chamber of Commerce.
