33rd Annual Holiday Lights at Shore Acres

Shore Acres State Park Sparkles and Shines! The annual Holiday Lights at Shore Acres display shines with more than 325,000 lights, animated displays, Santa, choirs, and more. The brightest and most beautiful place on the West Coast shines as brightly as ever in 2019! Click here for viewing tips

When & Where: Nightly (including Christmas Eve and Christmas Day) 4 p.m.-9:30 p.m. through December 31st.  Shore Acres State Park, Charleston. There is a $5 parking fee but admission is free. 

NEW! The Coos History Museum and Black Diamond Shuttle want to make your holiday group gathering memorable with an evening of Holiday Cheer & Noshing, exclusive shopping and discounts in the Museum’s Gift Shop, and a shuttle ride to the Holiday Lights at Shore Acres. The shuttle holds 12 and pricing is based on full capacity. Empire Tree Lighting Celebration

Santa will arrive on a Fire Engine and light the tree in Coos Bay’s Empire District. Enjoy refreshments, live music and be sure to vote for your favorite Christmas village! The tree is located at the Star of Hope Center at 657 Newmark Ave. Presented by the Community Coalition of Empire.

When & Where: Festivities begin at 5 p.m. December 7th. Star of Hope Center, 657 Newmark Ave. Coos Bay

North Bend Christmas Celebration & Parade

This year North Bend will be having a Holly Jolly Christmas where you’ll enjoy tasty morsels to eat, music, crafts, cider, a visit from Santa…and for the grand finale the tree lighting and a Christmas Parade. A small gift and stocking will be given to each child. There will be craft activities and goodies, a bicycle drawing for the kids and poinsettia drawings for the adults. Santa’s helpers will be collecting ticket stubs for children ages 12 & under to enter the bike give–away. Presented by The City of North Bend. Click on 2019 NB Parade map.pdf to see parade route.

When & Where: December 7, 2019, North Bend Santa arrives at 3 p.m. The tree lighting begins at 5 p.m. and is followed by the lighted parade at 5:30 p.m.

2019 Festival of Trees at The Mill Casino

Each year, The Mill Casino invites local businesses, individuals and organizations throughout the community to sponsor and decorate a tree or wreath for a worthy cause. Trees will be on display in the hotel lobby December 3 – 11, 2019. Holiday Tree Showcase & Benefit Auction will be held at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, December 11, 2019. Doors open at 5:30 pm for those with reserved tables for dinner. 6:45 pm doors open to the public. The Auction is free to attend. All proceeds benefit Coos Bay – North Bend Rotary programs such as Shots for Tots and the Kids HOPE Center. Click here for more info.

Coos History Museum & Maritime Collection Holiday Open House and Artisan’s Market 

Enjoy a free day at the museum in addition to a Holiday Open House and Artisan’s Market. Exhibits and museum store are open all day featuring a select group of artisans for holiday shopping and hands-on craft activities for the young and the young at heart! Artisan’s market and kids’ activities will end at 3 pm, but the museum will remain open until 5 pm. Click here for more info.

Winter Whale Watch Week

Visitors will have an amazing opportunity to see some of the thousands of Gray whales migrating south in the Pacific Ocean with the guidance of knowledgeable Whale Watching Spoken Here® volunteers during Winter Whale Watch Week.
