Onyx Monthly Newsletter October 2021 |
A new season is upon us! Growth and transformation are in the air. We experienced fun in the sun for three months and now we can get back to our earth sign roots and revel in the calm yet fluctuating energy of the season. According to Google, some common synonyms of change are alter, modify, and vary. While all these words mean "to make or become different," change implies making either an essential difference in one's life or staying complacent. We will take “change implies making an essential difference in one’s life for $300, Alex!” |
This past year and a half has shown all of us that we can push ourselves out of our comfort zones and accomplish much more than we thought we could. We have tackled working from home, not socializing or seeing our loved ones, and ultimately came out on top. We have started new endeavors, businesses, patterns and behaviors, and shaped our thoughts so that we are transforming the narrative for our lives - mentally and physically. |
We begin the month of October with National Hair Day and as Black women, this is something we hold near and dear to our hearts. A change in season is always a great time to renew and refresh your look and Fall is perfect for that. World Mental Health day is right around the corner on October 10th, and this will always be a day to reflect and make sure we are putting self-care, self-love, and our mental space, to the forefront of our lives. |
Indigenous People’s Day approaches at the same time and we know wassup!! We built this country; Black, indigenous, people of color that is! Here at Onyx we are intentionally choosing to celebrate this day for that very reason and NOT Christopher Columbus Day. On the same day we celebrate National Coming Out Day and the Onyx team is standing in solidarity and love with all of our brothers and sisters who are taking the leap of faith to live in their truths. Coming out to the world is a major act of courage and we definitely understand why this is a national holiday, because it is something to be celebrated. We stand in solidarity with you on this day and always. FALL PLANT CARE |

Fall is the perfect opportunity to grow and transform - just as nature inevitably does every season, so why not use this opportunity to nurture yourself as you nurture your own plant. There are so many Black Owned businesses that have started from the ground up (literally) and we want to highlight, showcase, and most importantly, support them - Planting with P Grounded Isha Plants My Crazy Plant Life Tennessee Tropicals
