Psalm 139:7-10, “Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.”

We sometimes feel that God is far away from us. When God is silent, we are tempted to think so. When we are sick, when we are suffering, or when we are lonely, we pray for God. But there is no answer from God and our situation is not changed. Then we think God is not here with us.

But God is with us. Even when we feel that God is far from us and when our situation is not changed, God is still with us. God’s presence fills this earth and heaven. Wherever we are, no matter what our circumstances, we can never be separated from Almighty God. God is here with us even at this moment.

I hope we remember this God as we start the new year. God never leaves us no matter who we are and what we have done. We cannot escape God's hand because God loves us so much and God’s presence fills our lives.
