Proverbs 21:3, “The Lord is more pleased when we do what is right and just than when we offer him sacrifices.”

There is a phrase, “Sunday Christian.” According to the Urban Dictionary, it means people who behave like Christians on Sunday but not on weekdays. This pattern tends to appear in those who are content with religious practices without a personal relationship with God.

Our religious practices are important. God is pleased with worshiping on Sunday, praying each day, reading and meditating on the Bible, donating money, or fasting. Through such acts, we can take “a form of godliness” and have the opportunity to meet God (2 Timothy 3:5).

But for us, the obedience offered in our lives is just as important as our religious rituals and actions. God doesn't just want a part of our lives. He wants to receive our entire life. Religious rituals and practices are only a part of it. Everything we do in our lives according to God's Word pleases God. He expects a life of kindness, patience, generosity, listening, helping, encouraging, yielding and forgiving toward neighbors and friends. Also, caring for and helping the poor, sick, and lonely is an act that pleases God.

Are you living your life giving all of your life to God? Or are you offering it to God only on Sundays? Are your Sunday and weekday lives different? What areas of your life are not being dedicated to God?
