Greeting and Welcome
Prelude - Change My Heart O God
Centering Words (Pastor)
Jesus knew one of them would betray him. Surrounded by his best friends, those whom he has trained and loves, Jesus announces one of them will stray from the path that God intended for him to live. His betrayal will cost Jesus his life. Still, Jesus loves them till the end!
Call to Worship (Responsive)
Lord, is it me who has betrayed you?
Have mercy on me, according to your faithful love!
Lord, is it me who has strayed from the path?
Wash me completely clean of my guilt!
Lord, is it me who has ignored your call?
Wash me and I will be whiter than snow!
Lord, is it me who has turned from your presence?
Create in me a clean heart and put a right spirit within me.
Opening Prayer (Unison)
Merciful God, have mercy on us when we stray, according to your faithful love! Wipe away our wrongdoings according to your great compassion! Transform our hearts with the power of your Holy Spirit, that we may be serve you in love and show mercy to all. Amen.
