Hot days are ahead of us. And that means we will want to sail even more. Most of us are probably already in cruising mode and letting the autopilot do the work. That's how it should be. Just before you completely log off give a thought about the late summer events and keep an eye on those pesky squalls.

What if there were no sunsets?

Another edition of Bodensee Rund Um is behind us. Tricky lake conditions proved to be a challenge, but not for everyone. Thanks to OBR Ana you can read how it went on board Ora Blu II. Don't miss the whole story.

Open European Championship

Two months to go! The registrations for OEC are open, and it is time to sign up your team. Our organising partners at GoSailing are saying that the new venue, in the heart of Portorož, promises an excellent “beach” environment, even shorter distance to the Race Course and great social events. You can expect the next update in a couple of days.

Find your inner Vegvisir

This is probably the last opportunity for you to join a rising star among the shorthanded long-distance races - Vegvisir. With just 14 slots left you should decide soon whether you are going alone, double-handed, long or short.

*The Vegvisir or runic compass is a Viking rune stave; a magical device used to aid in sea navigation.

Where are you cruising?

The summer is not just about racing and competition; it should also be a time to relax and enjoy days with a slowed downtempo. Our boats can be great for exploring distant shores and shallow bays others cannot access. If you would like to join other likeminded sailors on raids and cruising weeks, check out the calendar, we are sure there is something for everyone.

Oh, and don't forget to send us a picture or to!

Sailing should be fun, just like this

When you are a kid, your primary task is to have fun. In this retro pleaser* filmed almost ten years ago, boys and girls sailing on Optimist dinghies made a break in their training routine for some friendly competition on two 18s. They need no explanation – kids don’t think, kids just do it. We believe they succeeded with their task.
