RACE DAY REGISTRATION AND CHECK IN
Saturday, December 5, 2020
Due to COVID-19, we ask that you please print your waiver and race day registration form at home and bring it with you. If you pre-registered, you only need to sign a waiver. Please remember to social distance at Check In when interacting with those outside your family unit.
If you have raced with us this year, please bring your race plate! Gravel Plates are 2000 series for Long and 1000 series for Short. If you have one of these and can use it this weekend.
COURSE/CURRAHEE MOUNTAIN CLIMB
The Currahee's Revenge course is different from the March version. In fact, this one is different from any course that has been run on Currahee. As part of this change, you will be climbing the full "three miles up" to the top of the mountain. This course is the most fun and challenging course yet. Please make sure that you plan your fuel and hydration correctly! Hammer Nutrition has given us some great products for you to try if you need some!
Links to the course files are available below. The course will be marked on Friday but it is always a great idea to have turn-by-turn option as well. Even if you do not have a cycling computer, many phone apps allow turn-by-turn even without cell phone service. That being said, cell service is non-existent in the forest.

RACER MEETING AND START
The course will be marked with our course signs (pink for long course/ green for short course!) The race will start at 9:00 from LAKE RUSSELL RECREATION AREA. Please slowly and safely make your way down to the bottom of Lake Russell Road before 8:30AM. At 8:45, there will be a racer's meeting near the start line. At 9:00AM, our waves will start, beginning with Long Course Open. The course will end at the TOP of the Lake Russell Road near the Mt. Airy City Hall! (You're welcome!)
All of our aid stations will have pre-packaged foods only. We will provide bottled water and individual Hammer Nutrition HEED packets at aid stations rather than our standard 5 gallon coolers. The City Hall at Mt. Airy will have restrooms available. Please take advantage of our drop box to aid station 2 (corner of Currahee Mountain Road and Stone Grave Road) with extra hydration from home if you are more comfortable with that. Our amazing sponsor, Hammer Nutrition has provided pre-packaged hydration products and gels that you will receive in your registration packet.
We encourage you to social distance and wear a mask when you are with those outside your family unit.
Lastly, if you are feeling sick, we politely ask that you stay home. We will gladly transfer you to a future event.
See you soon!
