July 7 Remembrance + Personal News

Recognizing the July 7 Anniversary
The Dallas Morning News recently shared several stories in recognition of the July 7, 2016 shooting. You can read my story "Dallas trauma surgeon who led police oversight board overhaul is leaving city."

The event has changed the lives of many Dallas residents, and reading their stories reminds me how important our voices are to healing. The city recently revealed a memorial to the slain officers in downtown Dallas (pictured).
Personal News

I will be an associate professor in the Division of Trauma & Acute Care Surgery, co-director of the Surgical Intensive Care Unit, as well as starting a surgical critical care and trauma fellowship.
