"Charles F. Jahnig Bridge" Re-Dedication

St. Pete Beach hosted a bridge re-dedication of the Boca Ciega Isle Bridge located at Boca Ciega Drive at the east end of 46th Avenue on Tuesday, June 8th at 4 p.m.

The “Charles F. Jahnig Bridge,” which connects Boca Ciega Isle with the main portion of St. Pete Beach, was originally named after Mr. Jahnig, a former president of the Boca Ciega Isle Association in 1962.

This honor was bestowed because Mr. Jahnig was instrumental in the bridge’s reconstruction in 1960, transforming the old wooden, single-lane bridge to the design that stands currently. Mr. Jahnig and his family were among the first residents of the area, and his service to his community was extensive.

The Jahnig family along with community members and elected officials were in attendance for this celebration of St. Pete Beach History.
