Gulf Blvd. Update

View this week's Construction Update with Mike Clarke, the Public Works Director for the City of St. Pete Beach.

Appointments Required: 
Building, Permitting, and Parking Permits

Permits with maximum sheet sizes of 11x17 may be submitted via email to, or permits may be dropped off in the permit drop box located in front of City Hall located at 155 Corey Avenue St. Pete Beach, FL 33706.

Public Meeting, August 26th, 2021


Over the past year, the City has received comments regarding speeding vehicles and other safety concerns along Gulf Winds Dr. To gather public input on re-paving and improvement on Gulf Winds Drive, the City is hosting a public meeting on August 26th, 2021 at 5:00pm in the Boca Ciega Ball Room located at the City’s Community Center.  

To encourage social distancing, the meeting will be capped at 50 people. Please RSVP to reserve your spot by emailing Kaitlin at Masks are strongly encouraged if you plan to attend in-person. The meeting will also be available for viewing and questions/comments via Zoom.

Parking Study & Public Meeting

The City of St. Pete Beach is in the process of reviewing and updating the off-street parking requirements as they pertain to commercial businesses, such as restaurants and hotels.
To gain as much resident input as possible, the City will be holding a meeting to discuss potential off-street parking management strategies on September 8, 2021 at 5:00pm.

This meeting will be available for viewing and comments/questions via Zoom.

Stormwater Drainage Project on 36th Ave. 

Last week, the Florida Department of Transportation is began a stormwater drainage project on 36th Avenue between Gulf Boulevard and Maritana Drive.

Detour signs will be installed and traffic will be restricted to local traffic only for a period of approximately one month.

Today, August 20th, 2021, 36th Ave. will be closed just to the west of E Maritana Drive. Access to homes will be coordinated by the contractor.

Monday, August 23 – Mayor’s Open Office at 6:00 p.m.: Ask questions and discuss concerns with Mayor Alan Johnson.

Tuesday, August 24 – Great Explorations at the Library: Global Groove at 4:00 p.m.: Experience cultures from around the world through music! With instruments from 6 continents, children will explore other cultures and the science behind musical instruments.
