October 29th, 2021 Community Update 

Chowder Challenge is Back!

The 7th Annual Chowder Challenge is back on November 7th, 2021 from 1:00 to 5:00 pm at Horan Park. 

This fundraiser for the Veterans of South Pinellas County is a chowder and soup cook-off with the area’s best chefs and restaurants. In addition to a military induction ceremony and salute to the veterans, there will be live music, beer and wine, raffles, and a silent auction!

Community Highlights

During the Commission Meeting on Tuesday, October 26th, 2021, the City of St. Pete Beach presented checks to the Gulf Beaches Historical Museum and the Neighborly Care Network.  

About the Gulf Beaches Historical Museum:
"Inside there is a time-line display from 1500 to present, artifacts from the Sunshine School, Gulf Beaches School, island churches, Haley’s personal memorabilia, hundreds of then and now photographs, post-cards, a WW II exhibit, a special Don CeSar Hotel display and always a special exhibit that changes yearly."

About Neighborly Care Network:
"Neighborly is a non-profit 501C (3) organization licensed as a corporation in the State of Florida and dedicated to improving the lives of older persons in need of home and community-based services who reside in Pinellas County, Florida."

Trunk or Treat: Rescheduled for November 1st! 

Due to the weather conditions, the Trunk or Treat event has been rescheduled for Monday, November 1st from 5:00pm until 7:00pm.  A Movie in the park will follow from 6:30pm until 8:00pm.

  • CORRECTION:  The free Small Business Hub Workshop, Do the Hustle – How to Start a Side Hustle in 2021, has been changed to Monday, November 8, at 3:00 p.m.

Construction Zones

Metro crews are on site working on our sewer project along Gulf Blvd. and 55th Ave.  

 Immediately following this work, PSTA’s contractor will begin working on installing their bus stop south of 55th Avenue on the west side of the road. They will implement daily lane closures of the outside lane.  See full details here.

Freebee Expands Coverage Area
