Toys for Tots

As the holiday season begins to draw near, we have teamed up again with the Toys for Tots team to make Christmas wishes come true for needy children.
We work very hard to make Toys for Tots a success, but we could never do it without the help of our generous community and business leaders.
The gift of a shiny new toy – something that most children take for granted – means to a needy child that someone cares, that he/she hasn’t been forgotten, that Christmas hasn’t passed him/her by.
Drop off location is Fire Station 23 (7301 Gulf Blvd, St. Pete Beach)
Toys can be dropped off until December 15.
Thank you in advance for all of your support.

Thanksgiving is the peak day for home cooking fires.
Top 10 safety tips to keep everyone safe during this holiday:
Stay in the kitchen when you are cooking on the stove top so you can keep an eye on the food.
Stay in the home when cooking your turkey, and check on it frequently.
Keep children away from the stove. The stove will be hot and kids should stay three feet away.
Make sure kids stay away from hot food and liquids. The steam or splash from vegetables, gravy or coffee could cause serious burns.
Keep knives out of the reach of children.
Be sure electric cords from an electric knife, coffee maker, plate warmer or mixer are not dangling off the counter within easy reach of a child.
Keep the floor clear so you don’t trip over kids, toys, pocketbooks or bags.
Make sure your smoke alarms are working. Test them by pushing the test button.
Get Ready for the Holidays in St. Pete Beach!

This year has been tough, so we want to spread some good cheer and light up the city. The commission has approved to award a neighborhood (condo, civic, citizen, homeowners and island associations) $1,000 to the neighborhood that decorates the best this year. Additionally, we have (4) $75 visa cards to give out to an individual resident in each district!
To enter, please email Jennifer McMahon at rddirector@stpetebeach.org with the following information:
Associations Name

Address
Contact person
Contact person’s email and phone number
We look forward to lighting up the city.

This holiday season, please remember that grease and oil from your food preparations should never be placed down the drain, as it can cause problems with your own plumbing and the larger sewer infrastructure. To safely dispose of oil and grease, place it into a sealed container and put it in your regular outgoing trash. We'd like to thank you in advance for doing your part to help protect the sewage infrastructure in our city. The City of St. Pete Beach wishes you and yours a happy and safe Thanksgiving!
St. Pete Beach Public Library
Time is running out to visit the library at its temporary location! Come see us at 7470 Gulf Blvd, next to P.J.’s Restaurant. See you soon!
Did you know you can check out a ukulele at the library? The holidays are a perfect time to learn to play this fun instrument. The kit includes a ukulele and instructional book with DVD.

Save the Date! Santa Claus is coming to St. Pete Beach!

December 19th will be a special day here in St. Pete Beach. Santa and his crew will be driving through our beach town beginning at 10am. Santa's team will be sharing the route with us soon so we can all plan to create signs, decorate and celebrate in a safe way this year.
Parents and Guardians, here is a message especially for you!
To experience some extra special personalized magic from Santa Claus during the parade we invite you to make a fun custom sign for Santa on one side of the sign. On the other side write your kid/kids names large as possible in a big black marker. When Santa Claus is passing by your house and the kids are waving to him. You the parents will flip the sign around. It is important to make sure the kids can not see this happening. ( this is when you parents become Magicians and help with the magic) Santa will then personally say Merry Christmas to your kids with their names. Your kids will be so happy and shocked that Santa Claus knows their name/names personally. We look forward to creating this very nice and special experience for your kids during this holiday season.
