Nancy Johnson Retired
Nancy Johnson, our Camp Office Admin & Registrar officially retired in December 2019. She has been a vital part of the ministry of Trout Creek over the years and we are grateful for her many years of service. Nancy has been a part of Trout Creek from the time she was born as she is the granddaughter of TCBC's founder, Charles Wecks. She also volunteered on summer staff (1976-1981), met her husband Kelly while volunteering, worked as the camp secretary (1983-1984) and then again as the Secretary/Office Admin & Registrar (2004-2019).

Kelly and Nancy's children, Annette and Andrew, followed along in their parents footsteps and also volunteered as summer staff. Annette "Squeegee" (2001-2005) and Andrew "Biscuit" (2004-2008) each served as Crew, CIT, and Counselor over the years.

Annette also met her husband, Jimmy "Maverick" (2004-2006) while volunteering on staff too!

We are very grateful to Nancy and the Lord for her many years of service! We will miss her involvement on a daily basis, but know she will still be connected to the ministry of TCBC! In her retirement she is looking forward to spending time with her grand kids and family. This last Thursday, January 30th we gathered for a celebration dinner with the TCBC staff, Nancy's family and a couple friends.

Staff Parent Testimonial
We know that serving at camp has a huge impact on staff, and we are thankful that parents have noticed ... here is one testimonial from a staff parent:

"All four of our kids have volunteered multiple summers at TCBC.  We have considered it one of the greatest discipleship, maturing, and service opportunities in their lives. Without exception, the experience has benefited each of them (3 boys and 1 girl) spiritually, relationally, and helped shape a better attitude at home. Lastly, we found an unexpected benefit - each one of them came home with a whole group of Christian friends to talk to and hang out with outside of camp. This was simply not available to them, at this level, here at home. I actually feel like serving at TCBC is a better choice than attending camp once they get into High School."
- Dave Martin, parent of Turtle (2014-2015), Kowalski (2015-2018), Tank (2016-2018), and Hiccup (2018-2019).

A: The counselors, the food, and the clubs!

Q: What have you learned about God while at camp?
A: I've learned that He loves me and forgives me no matter what.

Q: Was there anything said in chapel, fireside, in a skit, or by your counselor that has stuck with you?
A: Something that really stuck with me was the chapel speaker saying that everyone has worth and that God forgives and loves us no matter what and that He always wants to be with us.

Q: How would you explain TCBC to someone who has never heard of it?
A: It's a really fun camp where you get closer to God and play really fun games and make the best friends ever.

Q: Would you tell your friends about Trout Creek? Why or why not?
A: Yes, because I want my friends to get closer to God and have a life changing experience filled with happy memories.

Celebrate With Us
Since we received the green light on permits in early December 2019, we have demolished the old staff cabins, cleared out the land, plotted the sites for each cabin, and poured concrete for the foundations and walls of each new cabin.

Our goal is to have these cabins ready for staff in June 2020! Pray that the weather cooperates as we prepare to install utilities and begin the framing!
Donate towards Building Project
This year marks our 75th Anniversary of ministry at Trout Creek Bible Camp! As we enter into this year, we will be taking time to reflect and remember all the ways that the Lord has provided many blessings throughout these past 75 years.

We also plan to host a couple different events to mark the celebration of many years of ministry. Stay tuned for more details!

Prayer & Praise
The work never stops at camp and ministry is always happening. Here are a few ways that you can pray for us.

  • Staff Applications & Interviews: Pray for the applicants as they fill out the application, and for the Lord to call staff to volunteer at camp this summer! Also pray for all interviews, that it would be an encouraging process for the applicant and that God would provide clear direction in the hiring process.
  • Summer Positions: Pray for the filling of every needed staff position this coming summer.
  • Campers: Pray for the campers that made spiritual decisions this past summer and that they continue to trust the Lord in their daily lives.
  • Summer 2020: Pray for the year-round staff as they think, pray, and prepare for this next summer!
  • Facilities: Pray for our facilities as we weather the winter months; specifically for God's protection with the colder weather and storms.

We never want to forget to stop and praise God for the blessings and answers to prayers. He is a good and faithful God, and we want to remember that!

  • Last Two Permits: We received the last two needed permits for the building process: building and sanitation.
  • Spiritual Decisions Made: we are praising God for all the work He did in the lives of children and youth among the campers and the staff.
  • Safety All Summer: We are praising God for providing safety for campers and staff during the summer!
