Camp News
This last weekend we hosted a Jr High / Sr. High retreat called "Reconnect". We had 70 campers and 40 staff spend the weekend at camp and we had the pleasure of hearing three chapel talks from Nolan Tjaden from Rise City Youth!

The weekend was packed full of camp activities: chapel talks & worship, fireside & skits, a night game, going down the zip line, sitting by the fire with friends, turning the craft room into a puzzle room, black light dodgeball in the gym and karaoke on the snak shak patio.

One parent left a comment about the Reconnect Retreat on our Facebook page saying, "My son’s friend said it was the best camp he has ever been to! It was his first time at TCBC."

We loved having campers and staff at camp this October and we can't wait to do it again!

TCBC Stories
We'd like to introduce you to one of our campers, Bronwyn!!

She is 14 years old and has been going to camp for two years ... but she's gone over four times! She must really love TCBC! :) Get to know her by reading through the Q+A portion of the spotlight.
Q: What are some of your favorite things about TCBC?
A: One of my favorite memories about camp is worship night. I really like worship night because its really impactful in how I have a good outlook on life and my life with God.

Q: Favorite camp song?
A: My favorite camp song is "O Come to the Altar" and "Oceans" because they are really great songs and I still listen to them even at home.

Q: Favorite camp game?
A: My favorite camp activity is 100% safari. Its not so much to win the game but the whole experience of going off with friends to go to try to find our favorite counselors and getting all wet.

Q: How has your life changed by coming to TCBC?
A: I have gone to church more often i have started reading the Bible and praying more and I started to actually feel like God is there for me and I have started to feel more connected with him.

Q: Was there anything said about God in chapel, fireside, in a skit, or by your counselor that has stuck out to you?
A: There was a skit about following Jesus and not always following what your friends do and that really stuck to me because only one of my friends is Christian and so I stopped doing nothing & I told most of my friends about God and about what I learned about at camp.

Q: What staff person has had the biggest impact on you at TCBC?
A: Papaya, I honestly really look up to her and want to be a great counselor one day just like she was to me.
Fill out the camper survey!
We've highlighted everybody that has submitted a survey ... now it's your turn!

We'd love to feature your child as the monthly "Camper Spotlight" in November!
We'd like for you to meet one of our amazing staff members ... CANNOLI!

She's been working on staff for the past two summers. She loves Jesus, campers, and has an awesome attitude of service. Get to know her more by reading the Q+A below:
Q: What are some of your favorite things about TCBC?
A: I love the atmosphere, just the fact Jesus is all around us and you can feel it.

Q: Favorite camp song?
A: "This Little Light of Mine" or "Let Us Adore"

Q: What is a God-moment camper story that you have seen or been a part of?
A: I remember one of my campers didn't know at all what the gospel was. And it was so crazy to experience because I remember when I didn't know what the gospel was. It was super humbling and I explained it to her and she accepted Jesus into her heart that day.

Q: How has your life been transformed by working at TCBC?
A: My life has been so transformed by camp. There are so many examples I can't even begin. Let me just say one thing. My faith has been growing so much when I started working at camp. And the main thing with that is learning to fully trust in the Lord.

Q: What do you love about your job as a CIT at camp?
A: I love being around kids with so much energy because I have have a lot too. I also love just making deeper connections and seeing how Jesus works through these kids lives.

Celebrate With Us
Multnomah County has granted land use approval to replace the volunteer staff cabins! This is very exciting news and allows us to continue to move forward with this project. This was a major hurdle because all other permits and progress were contingent on land use approval.

Now we have two more permits to secure; building and sanitation. We are currently working on obtaining those last permits right now. We should have building permits in a few months’ time, if all goes smoothly. We are hoping to begin construction of new cabins in the off season and have some new cabins for the summer staff of 2020.

We are very grateful to the Lord for His continued faithfulness and provision. We truly appreciate your support and ask for your continued prayers for the forward progress of this vital project.
Donate towards Building Project
This year marks our 75th Anniversary of ministry at Trout Creek Bible Camp! As we enter into this next year, we will be taking time to reflect and remember all the ways that the Lord has provided many blessings throughout these past 75 years.

We also plan to host a couple different events to mark the celebration of many years of ministry. Stay tuned for more details!

Prayer & Praise
The work never stops at camp and ministry is always happening. Here are a few ways that you can pray for us.

  • Campers: Pray for the campers that made spiritual decisions this summer and that they continue to trust the Lord in their daily lives.
  • Next Summer: Pray for the year-round staff as they think, pray, and prepare for the next summer!
  • Last Two Permits: We just have two more permits to secure; building and sanitation. Pray that once we submit them we hear back quickly so we can begin the building process!
  • Facilities: Pray for our facilities as we enter into the winter months; specifically for God's protection with the colder weather and storms.

We never want to forget to stop and praise God for the blessings and answers to prayers. He is a good and faithful God, and we want to remember that!

  • Spiritual Decisions Made: we are praising God for all the work He did in the lives of children and youth among the campers and the staff.
  • Safety All Summer: We are praising God for providing safety for campers and staff during the summer!
