FAA Challenge - Smart Airport Student Competition aims to recognize students with the ability to demonstrate innovative thinking focused on improving the effectiveness of smart technology (like VR/AR) in and around the airport environment while enhancing the overall traveling experience. They require you to be either an undergraduate or graduate student at an accredited US-based college and interested in aviation research. They have a $25,000 prize to award.

Global Classrooms Initiative provides financial support to faculty in order to help them develop innovative classrooms, using digital technology. They are doing a Call for Proposals in courses that advance UN Sustainable Development Goals. AR/VR would be an innovative way to teach.

DARPA invites applications to its Military Tactical Means in the areas of multi-mode electro-optics, sensors, and exploitation techniques capable of performing a wide-area search to detect high-value targets. National Science Foundation - Science of Learning and Augmented Intelligence Program: supports research that looks at how human cognitive function can be augmented through interactions with others, contextual variations, and technologists advance. National Science Foundation - Nanoscale Interactions: the goal of the program is to support research that advances the understanding of nanomaterials and nanosystems. The Sloan Public Understanding of Science, Technology & Economics program is a long-standing multifaceted program that aims to give people a keener appreciation for the increasingly scientific and technological world in which we live and to convey some of the challenges and rewards of the scientific and technological enterprise. This includes the work of AR/VR/MR.
