UMD I-Corps next session occurs with a webinar kickoff (Sept 18th @ 12pm) with an in-person session (Sept 25th @ 5pm) following. Teams must set up 10 or more customer discovery interviews. What is I-Corps?  They are a commercialization program that helps you to find and interview your potential customers - you will be provided tools and guidance to help (in)validate your business. SBIR Road Tour is coming to College Park,MD! SBIR (Small Business Innovation Research) connects entrepreneurs working on technologies to the country's largest Seed Fund. At each stop, the SBIR gives attendees an opportunity to talk with participating federal agency program mangers in charge of awards. Lockheed Martin has set up a portal to make it much easier for small companies to connect with them to support SBIR/STTR proposals. They would love to partner with more companies in our entrepreneurial ecosystem.

National Institutes of General Medical Sciences has a grant for developing STEM resources geared toward student career choices and health and medicine topics. They are looking for creative ways to do such, even with the use of AR.

National Institute of Health has a grant for those interested in researching the performance of cancer imaging, in order to improve the accuracy of cancer screenings. Specific areas of interest include (but not limited to) augmented reality systems and advanced imaging displays (like the Hololens).

Google's Faculty Research Awards is looking to fund world-class technical research in Computer Science, Engineering, and related field. They have multiple categories to apply to, including Augmented and Virtual Reality. 

Rolling Applications:
The Sloan Public Understanding of Science, Technology & Economics program is a long-standing multifaceted program that aims to give people a keener appreciation for the increasingly scientific and technological world in which we live and to convey some of the challenges and rewards of the scientific and technological enterprise. This includes work of AR/VR/MR.

EDIDP-SME-2019: Innovative defense products, solutions, materials and technologies, including those that can create a disruptive effect and improve readiness, deploy ability, reliability, safety and sustainability of EU forces in all spectrum of tasks and missions, for example in terms of operations, equipment, infrastructure, basing, energy solutions, new surveillance systems. Proposal examples include medical VR training and AR combat helmet.

The Joint Programming Initiative on Cultural Heritage and Global Change (JPI CH) is pleased to announce a new funding opportunity for transnational proposals. The Conservation, Protection and Use call will support research into strategies, methodologies and tools to safeguard and use the physical components of our cultural heritage. It invites research projects that take a global approach to preserving Europe’s heritage and which result in a better understanding of our history, traditions and culture, of our individual and collective identities, and ultimately of our well-being. Eligible teams must be based in Cyprus,  Czech Republic, France , Italy , Latvia , Norway , Poland, Portugal , Spain , The Netherlands, or The United Kingdom.
