NIMH seeks applications for innovative research projects to test strategies to increase the reach, efficiency, effectiveness, and quality of digital mental health interventions which may impact mental health outcomes, including suicide behaviors and serious mental illness. This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is intended to support the development of digital health test beds that leverage well-established digital mental health platforms and infrastructure to rapidly refine and optimize existing evidence-based digital health interventions and to conduct clinical trials testing digital mental health interventions that are statistically powered to provide a definitive answer regarding the intervention's effectiveness. 

Rolling Applications:
National Science Foundation - Nanoscale Interactions: the goal of the program is to support research that advances the understanding of nanomaterials and nanosystems. One aspect of research supported through this program is "simulations of nanoparticles". The use of AR/VR can apply here. For more info, click here.

The Sloan Public Understanding of Science, Technology & Economics program is a long-standing multifaceted program that aims to give people a keener appreciation for the increasingly scientific and technological world in which we live and to convey some of the challenges and rewards of the scientific and technological enterprise. This includes the work of AR/VR/MR.

International Opportunities:

The Alberta Innovates Summer Research Studentship (SRS) program provides funding to support students engaging in health and medical research during the summer months (May–August). The intent of the program is to encourage such students to consider careers in medical/health research.  Alberta Innovates has a strategic interest in supporting students interested in the area of Digital Health. As a condition of our funding from Alberta Innovates, 25% of awards in Summer 2020 are to be directed to Digital Health projects.
