What is your favorite camp program and why? I have great memories of family reunions at the camp. Continuing to share time together even when space divides us most days, is such a wonderful gift!
Favorite Restaurant: One of my favorites is Trumpet Blossom in Iowa City. I like creativity in flavors and combinations. I appreciate local sourcing too!
Ledru Miller from Frytown

Occupation: Owner of George’s Painting
What is your favorite camp program and why? I have co-favorites. Favorite number one is Crooked Creek Wild. I really enjoy because it is fun to challenge myself physically and I have enjoyed being in a group with both my wife and other friends.  It is also great to see all the people from the community that come out for this event.  Favorite number two is summer camp. My daughter has attended the past three years and has enjoyed the experience immensely. She enjoys the activities, people and has learned so much every year and as a parent it is so fun to see her grow in faith.
Favorite Camp Memory? One of my favorite memories was “blazing new trails” with cabinmates when we discovered additional trails throughout the grounds and we explored them.  I think we believed that we were the first ones to discover them, although the trail markers should have been clues that we weren’t the ‘trailblazers” we thought we were.

Erin Ramer from Parnell

What is your favorite camp program? The Craft Retreat is always super fun.
Favorite sports team to cheer for? This is a KU Jayhawks and KC Chiefs house. (Although, we cheer for the Hawkeyes too.)
Lowell Unruh from Wayland
Years served on the board: 3 Position: Treasurer
Occupation: Production Agriculture, with and emphasis in Turkeys, Corn, Soybeans, and hogs.
What is your favorite camp program and why? All the kids camp weeks, because it’s great to give kids an opportunity to meet God in the outdoors, and it’s a place where they can begin a personal and meaningful relationship with Jesus. Also, they have opportunities to form lasting friendships with other campers.
Favorite Camp Memory? I attended Rocky Mountain Mennonite Camp in my youth. I loved camp! Most of all, I loved all the hikes we went on, including hiking Pikes Peak several times.

Jason Widmer from Wellman
Years served on the board: 2
Occupation: Work for Pro Grower Solutions and Farm
What is your favorite camp program and why? My favorite camp program is probably the Crooked Creek Wild.  It's challenging but fun at the same time, and when you are all done it's a good time hanging out with everyone and relaxing with a good meal.
When you're not attending camp programs or board meetings, what do you enjoy doing for fun? I enjoy doing activities with my wife and three kids.  We enjoy being outdoors and playing sports.
Program Updates:
*Due to Covid-19 and social distancing concerns, each family will be assigned their own cabin and both a female and male shower and toilet to be used throughout the duration of their stay. We strongly encourage families to practice social distancing to the best of their abilities but CCCC does not have jurisdiction over individual families while they're at camp. Activities will be assigned to individual families throughout different parts of their schedule they desire, however a different time for that activity may not be available.  All schedules subject to change. Please contact megan@crookedcreekcamp.org with any questions.
