A message to those who have helped fund the campaign to save Streatham Hill Theatre

Dear Supporter,

You kindly donated to our Save Streatham Hill Theatre: Phase 1 crowdfunding campaign, launched last spring. Along with additional support from the Mayor of London, Lambeth Council and the Theatres Trust, your donation allowed us to engage Festivals and Events International (FEI), a leading, independent arts consultants, to carry out a Viability Study and Economic Impact Assessment for Streatham Hill Theatre.

We now have the report from this study and are delighted to announce that the results are as we hoped: that there are wide-ranging economic and social benefits to restoring Streatham Hill Theatre for the community, and that the ongoing operation of the Theatre as a leisure and entertainment venue promoting arts and culture, is a viable long-term proposition.

Available online here is an advance version of a summary of the study’s report which we wanted to share with you, our members and supporters, ahead of the publication of the final version of the summary on Wednesday 21st April. This sneak preview is only available to view until the 21st. We would love to hear any thoughts you might have on the summary and encourage you to share those with us either through this form https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/7BMRQQR or by replying to this email. It would be great if you also give us permission to share your response as part of the campaign.

We would also be really grateful for your support in sharing the final summary far and wide when it is published on Wednesday 21st April so if you see things across social media that you are able to share then please do. Until then, please keep the advance summary and the contents of this email to yourself.

A Statement of Heritage Significance has also been created, illustrating the importance of the theatre. This is already published online and is a very interesting read, with some great images of the theatre.

We hope you are as pleased with the outcome of the study as we are, and we look forward to sharing the findings and further raising awareness of the campaign with you over the coming weeks. Our next campaign meeting will also take place on Wednesday 21st at 8pm, and it would be great to see some of you there to celebrate this milestone and to begin to discuss our next steps. You can sign up for the online campaign meeting here: FoSHT Campaign Online Meeting Wednesday 21st April Registration, Wed 21 Apr 2021 at 20:00 | Eventbrite
