Theatres Trust announce their Theatres At Risk list this week
Streatham Hill Theatre (SHT) has been on the 'at risk' list since 2018 and we await this year's update. Though we have moved forward with our campaign and with the findings of our viability study, we can see that the building is still at risk. Look out for the Theatres Trust publicity - we will be passing on the announcement through our social media.
We also plan to launch the "Assessment of Heritage Significance" for SHT - showing how important the building is - and announce a fabulous new patron at the same time.
Viability Study and Economic Impact Assessment
We have been discussing the interim findings from the study with members, trustees, stakeholders and Lambeth our local authority... and we are heading towards a consensus on the best way forward. Come along to the campaign meeting for an update.
TfL Proposals for A23 Streatham Hill
Last year TfL consulted on proposals for changes to the A23 Streatham Hill to improve the environment around the road and encourage more cycling. Unfortunately they hadn't factored in our proposals to regenerate Streatham Hill Theatre, as they were not aware of our (GLA supported) plans. We put forward some comments about access needed for that regeneration and are pleased to note that, when they just recently published the results of the consultation, they have committed to talk with us further to address those concerns.
