Volunteer Help Needed!

As we come out of lockdown and people are returning to work, many of our volunteers have much less time to help the campaign, meaning we are now relying on a small number of people.

CAN YOU HELP PLEASE?

If you are able to help, we need volunteers to help look after our social media, co-ordinate and run our events (including the festival events below), engage with stakeholders, and generally run the campaign.

Please come along to a campaign meeting or drop us an email! THANKS.

Campaign Meeting

Weds 8th September at 8pm to 9.30pm

This time we will be holding a hybrid meeting:
  • in person at Vinters Studios, 1b Sunnyhill Road, London SW16 2UG
  • online with Zoom.
Please register in the usual way and then you can join by whichever method you like! Joining details can change so don't rely on past information. Please don't pass on Zoom details to anyone - ask them to register themselves.

As usual, we have an update on latest activities, and talk about next steps for our campaign.

Our next regular campaign meeting will be in four weeks time, 6th October, and every four weeks thereafter until further notice.

Everyone is welcome.

Click the button below to register at Eventbrite. Eventbrite will email you reminders and joining instructions.
To take part in person, just come along to the venue.
To access the Zoom meeting joining link, for security reasons you will need to be logged in to Eventbrite (using the account you used to register). However, you do not need to have a Zoom account to join. More about how our online meetings work can be found on our website.

Streatham Wind Day

You should see some of our volunteers at the Wind Day on Streatham Common on Sunday 12th September.

If you would like to help them, please come along to the campaign meeting or drop us a line by email.

Streatham Festival 2021

We'll be taking part in the upcoming Streatham Festival with two exciting activities.

The Friends of Streatham Hill Theatre are really excited to launch  their ‘Imaginarium‘ project.

Taking place during the Streatham Festival, supported by leading venue design practice studio three sixty°, this project will allow the local community to dream of a big future for our forgotten venue.

We want all parts of the community to be able to take part, to help explore how a revitalised theatre might be used, and even look. We are particularly want to involve those who are marginalised, and might not normally have their views heard.

For that reason, we will not be charging for entry to the Imaginarium, or to take part in its workshops.

We are therefore looking for Event Partners who share our goals to support us in delivering this project through sponsorship.

If community involvement in the future of our local area is important to you, your business and your local customers, please get in touch by email at community@streathamhilltheatre.org to discuss the different opportunities.

We are also looking for nominations for local community groups who would like to take part and tell us what they would like to see in the venue - use the email address above to get in touch.

There'll be more details on our website about how to take part nearer the time.

Organised by an experienced London Blue Badge Guide, teams (each of up to 6 people) will able to take part in a hunt for clues around the Streatham Hill area near the theatre, with prizes for the best results. Entry is FREE!

Prizes have been donated by local businesses, who we thank very much for their support.

There'll be more details on our website about how to take part nearer the time.
