The Varsity Tennis Boys have won every sectional match this year and we expect them to win their tournament and head to state. Their season record is 9 wins, 1 loss; losing only to a larger school not in our section. AHSAA has broken Alabama into 4 quadrants for tennis participation. So, each “quarter” section sends 2 teams to state, first and second place. The top 8 in the state compete. We are hopeful that our teams will be successful in the tournament and again prove their standing, then proceed to Mobile in April for the state tournament. Since last report, our boys defeated Decatur Heritage Christian Academy 7-2, Austin High School 9-0, and Westbrook 9-0.

Right now our
Varsity Tennis Girls are in second place in the section. Since our last report, they defeated Madison Academy 5-4 and Westbrook 9-0. Their record is 7 wins, 4 losses. They are increasing in strength as the season goes on, mentally and physically. We really hope to overturn the DHCA and pull a first place out of the section tournament.

JV Tennis Girls are learning and doing well. They only play one match a week, so after the last report, they won over Madison County High School.
The Outdoor Track program is off to a very good start. At the first meet, the ladies placed second, only losing to the 2019 7A State Champions, beating all other 6A and 7A schools in the process. Ryan Turner and Simon Jaeger both had a very good first meet. Ryan posted times that ranked in the top 5 of the 2A classification. Simon finished third in the pole vault beating many large school competitors. The second meet was a much larger meet with over 32 teams present. Our girls finished 5th overall only losing to 7a schools. They missed 4th by .5 points and 3rd by 1.5 points. The girl’s 4x800 meter relay team, who was already ranked first in 2A, extended their lead even further, posting an improved time from the first meet. Seth Stewart set two new school records finishing 4th overall in the 100 meter dash beating out 120 competitors. He then ran a new school record for the 200 meter, placing in the top 5 of a huge field. Simon Jaeger finished third in the pole vault out of a big group of talented vaulters. Eli Franklin is now ranked 2nd in the 800 meter in the 2A classification after his performance. The Whitesburg Christian Academy Outdoor Track team hopes to continue the season with as much success as they have found early on.
The Varsity Soccer Boys are currently 0-5. The record represents a net loss of 10 Seniors over the past 2 years, and the addition of 5 mighty 7th and 8th graders that will become the core of the team for years to come. While we know we are undersized and skilled as a team, we are focusing on skill development, having fun (despite the losses) and discovering areas in our life the Lord is pressing in on. After last week's loss to Arab, goalie Ian Putman shared that God has given him new courage and confidence to play goalie. In a previous loss to Tanner Seth Stewart shared, that though we lost, he still had a lot of fun. The boys have 4 easier games in the next week, and hope to improve their record.
The Varsity Soccer Girls team is currently 6-2 this season. They came into the season extremely strong with lots of energy! Their first two games they faced Madison County, beating them 1-0 in the first round and 4-1 in the second. The girls competed in a tournament in Sylacauga walking out with 1st place in the tournament! They played Tanner, their first area game, and lost 2-1. The team was very disappointed and didn’t play their best, but they are motivated to come back and beat them to push up in the area! They came back to beat Arab High School in a competitive game 4-3, which was a huge win for the girls. After that, they competed in a physical game against Sylvania, losing again 2-1. The team stayed positive and took some time to recover after multiple players had some injuries after that game. With multiple big area games coming up, the team is motivated to work as a team and stay strong! Their goal is getting to the playoffs and advance to the State Tournament!
The Baseball Team opened the season with three games against 3A Danville and improved through each game. Following a loss to 2A #8 North Sand Mountain, the Warriors went on to win three of their next four games, shutting out Woodville and dropping a back-and-forth contest to 2A #9 Ider. The Warriors then went on to sweep their opening area series against Tharptown. The team is hungry to continue competing in area play and welcomes 2A #1 Decatur Heritage to campus on Monday at 4:00 PM.
For the first time, Whitesburg Christian Academy has both Boys and Girls Varsity Golf Teams. Boys Team members returning from last year's COVID-19 shortened season are Seniors Manning Morris and David Martin, Sophomore Annin Harper and 8th Grader Andrew Bolton. Senior Ashley Morris returns from last year. Newcomers to the Girls Team this year are Juniors Olivia Martin and Mary Hinely, and Sophomore Hannah Kate Baker.

Both Teams kicked off the 2021 Golf Season with a Dual Match vs Lindsay Lane Academy at Canebrake Golf Club on Thursday, March 4th. The Boys Team was short handed, but Manning and Annin handily defeated the Lindsay Lane Boys. This match was the first ever for our newcomers to the Girls Team. All four of our Girls played well for the first time out, but fell to a much more experienced Lindsay Lane Girls Team playing on their home course.

On Tuesday, March 9th, at Valley Hill Country Club both the Boys and Girls Teams competed in a 9-hole Quad Match vs Westminster Christian Academy, Pope John Paul II, and Madison Academy. Annin led the Warriors Boys Team to a 3rd place finish with an individual 9-hole score of four over par 40. The Girls Team continued to gain valuable experience and are showing improvement with each Match.

Our Boys Team placed 10th out of the 20 1A-7A Boys Teams in the 18-hole 2021 6th Annual Fairview Invitational Tournament on Thursday, March 11th, at Cross Creek Golf Club in Cullman. Congratulations to Manning for being selected to the All Tournament Team with a 5th best overall score of 77 out of the 109 players who competed in the tournament. Additionally, Annin had the 13th best overall score of 83.

Next on the schedule is a Boys and Girls Dual Match with Class 4A Madison Academy at the Links at Redstone on Friday, March 19th, and a Dual Match vs JPII at Huntsville Country Club on Tuesday, March 23rd.
