Dear Academy Family,

We had a record number of families attend our preview day last week. Our amazing admissions and marketing staff put together a great event to share with prospective parents the message of who we are at The Academy. They combined outstanding video presentations with testimonies from students, parents, and administrators to communicate our message thoroughly and effectively. That event combined with our Academy family sharing that message with friends resulted in a record attendance of 90 families, almost double a normal year.

We are now well over 100 days into this school year. You have dropped off your children, gone your way, and picked them up in the afternoon since early August. Our new families have never been inside our buildings. There has been no parent interaction with the school in person, only by email, texts, and phone calls. Yet you have brought your children and invited your friends to bring their children. This is a strong affirmation of the staff at The Academy and your trust of your children to us for their education and development. We take this responsibility very seriously. In the cold and windy carline this morning, I watched you leave your children with us and prayed a “thank you” prayer for your trust, and a “don’t let us mess this up” prayer for our staff.

Another affirmation of your trust is that, as of midnight, our re-enrollment of current students reached 97.5%. This shattered the old record of 94% which occurred in July, not January. New enrollment opened at midnight and we already have over 100 new applications submitted. Again, this comes back to the trust families have in The Academy family. As I think about that trust, I want to renew our commitment to our Academy family.

The faculty and staff of The Academy pledge our commitment to:
  • The pursuit of excellence in every area of The Academy.
  • Student focus: doing what is best for each and every student.
  • Well trained: college prep academics, focused not only on college admission but college success.
  • Servant leaders: becoming change agents within our culture.
  • Passionate followers of Christ: knowing Christ and making Him known in our circle of influence.
On a personal note, I want to thank our Academy family for your trust in The Academy, and personally pledge to take that trust very seriously every moment of every day.

Warrior strong. Warrior brave. We do hard things.

Jerry Reeder

There are none more talented than our MEDIA MOMS! Thank you for sharing your skills with The Academy and for going the extra mile to help our school shine!
Do you see Christlike service at work in our community? Please email us to nominate faculty, staff, students, teachers and parents for “Servant of the Week.” The purpose is to show God at work for His glory.

I am Jason Ray, a senior and the President of the Student Government Association (SGA) here at Whitesburg Christian Academy. This is the very first year we have ever had a student government association. Our officers this year are Joshua Dean (10th) as Vice President, Nash Euto (12th) as secretary, and Jon David Looser (10th) as Treasurer. Along with the 4 officers, SGA will consist of each grade 7-12 having two grade representatives. Our goal this year is to determine the desires of the students, the desires of the school, and make decisions on how we can best change The Academy for the future. In previous years, a headmaster’s council of two representatives from each grade has advised the administration on matters relating to the student body. This being the first year of SGA, our intent is to create a standard for the future years of SGA and The Academy. In future years, SGA will be proposing new ideas, aiding the community via service work, partnering with the grammar school, and aiding in school events.
