Two Weeks to Go!!
This time in two weeks, we will be in full flight at Fed Square and online, enjoying the magnificent joie de vivre of this year's Festival. We can't wait to welcome you either in-person at Fed Square or virtually.

What to expect at this year's Festival

Aside from our exciting ticketed events – Les Lumières Talks, Delicieux: A French Market Lunch, and more – we have plenty of FREE program events to soak in the joie de vivre during the Bastille Day festivities.
  • Explore the French Winter Market in the Atrium and Plaza, featuring Melbourne’s best French stalls selling mulled wine, crêpes, croissants, pastries, cheese and champagne just to name a few.
  • Tune into a series of online and screened digital content (watch at home or in Fed Square) including the made-in Melbourne short documentary Home Shift Home, performances by Soprano Lorena Stipani and pianist David McNicol as well as DJ Tanzer, and the Huxleys.
  • Kick up your heels with live roaming entertainment including live music and performances.
  • Walk through, around, wonder and immerse yourself in The Knot by French Artist Cyril Lancelin at Fed Square.
  • Relax in a deck chair at Fed Square to watch French Can Can on the Plaza Big Screen on Friday 16 July at 8pm.
Fed Square welcomes The Knot
See Fed Square light up like never before with the hero art installation The Knot. The bold, larger-than-life immersive artwork by French visual artist Cyril Lancelin will illuminate the Melbourne night sky fluorescent pink between July 15 until September 5. Join us at the Festival to be wowed by the scale of the inflatable 3-dimensional installation as you explore the pink knot from all angles.

French Winter Market

Always a favourite of the Festival here in Melbourne, the French Winter Market will give you access to a plethora of authentically French products and experiences. With FREE entry, you will have the liberty to wander to your heart's content through a small slice of France, when travel isn’t possible.
With all the walking you’ll be doing, there will no doubt be a need of good food to keep you going. Maybe you’ve developed a hankering for some delectable French cheese? Check out the raclette from Frencheese. A pairing with cured meats and champagne you say? Your ports of call will be found in Farcecharcuterie and Le Bar. In fact, Le Bar will be cashless, s
erving mulled wine, champagne, french wine, beer and cider!
Of course, France isn’t all about food (even if we like to think so!) The rich marketplace of stalls will be offering plenty of French fashion, jewellery, books, and more.
We suppose you’ll just have to find out for yourself on 16 and 17 July what other hidden gems and delightful delicacies await!

Fed Square Plaza

After exploring the French Winter Market in the Atrium and the Plaza, grab a deck chair, bring your own rug and sit back, relax and enjoy a host of free French content on the iconic Fed Square Screen. Featuring documentaries about expatriation and a French composer; classical French melodies and new world musical artistry, this is the perfect way to enjoy the joie de vivre of this year’s Bastille Day French Festival.
Can't make it to Fed Square on one or both of our dates? Tune in online to our website to watch the same fantastic content from the comfort of your own home.

You will be able to question Delphine on some of her collection pieces as well as her latest work of art.
Additionally, if you wish to be in the French "spirit" of the Bastille Day French Festival, why not order a special bottle of Phillippe Fourrier Pinot Noir Champagne to sip while you stitch?
