Warm Winter Wishes!

Welcome to the inaugural issue of the Goldenrod Healing newsletter. To what do you owe the honor of receiving this delight in your overstuffed inbox? I am lucky to count you as a friend/supporter/obligated family member who has expressed an interest in the latest endeavor that makes my soul happy.

I've learned some people are blog people. Some people are newsletter people. Some people are "hey you kids - get off my lawn!" people. If you fall in one of the first two categories, I invite you to either follow my blog on my new website or stick around for spontaneous and sporadic musings involving holistic health and occasional commentary. (So far, the content is synonymous so if you are both a blog and a newsletter person - sorry!) If you are a member of the last category, how did you make it on this list?? and you can unsubscribe below.

Many thanks for sharing this part of my journey!

Six Tips for Staying Healthy in Flu Season

Grandma's advice to wash your hands (with hot, soapy water) is still one of the best ways to help you avoid catching colds and flus. Chances are, she had many more tips, including at least two on this list (although astragalus root is probably a new one for her)...
Guilt-Free Chocolate Cardamom Mousse Cake

Mmm, cardamom. Who knew such an intoxicating taste could be harbored in such a funky seedpod? Whether or not you celebrate Valentine's Day, it's the perfect excuse to indulge in this dairy-free, gluten-free, sugar-free, I-swear-it's-still-delicious chocolate cake. Get the recipe here.
The Importance of Oleation in the Winter

If "oleation" looks like a typo, or if you want to know more about the benefits of Ayurvedic self-massage, or if you're curious why the phrase Tonga Abhyanga makes me laugh, you can read more here.
If you live in the South Puget Sound area, come join me on February 16 for Free Healing Friday at Intuitive Mind in University Place. I'll be offering Healing Touch along with other providers between 12 and 4:30 PM. No appointment necessary.
