The Ramsay Report

Tuesday, October 26, 2021

It's been a busy few weeks here at All Saints Episcopal Church.... and the busy continues!  In this week's Ramsay Report  we are going to try to catch you all up!

First, on Sunday, we celebrated the 22nd Sunday After Pentecost with a 10 a.m. service, both in-person and online.

If you missed yesterday's service, you can just click here.  You can also view/download the bulletin here.

If your circumstances permit, please continue to keep your pledges up to date. You may do so by mail or online using Tithely. Simply click the donate button on the website or click here.

Liturgical Gifts
The Altar Flowers and Sanctuary Lamp are given by Shane Abdelnour to the glory of God and in loving memory of his father, Alexander Abdelnour and his brother Shane Abdelnour.

There is availability for liturgical gifts throughout the year. To offer a thank-offering or memorial, please call the parish office or sign-up in the book in the Narthex.

"Come as you Were" Sunday
10:00 a.m. Service (in person and online)
Just for fun and to celebrate our coming back together more and more, we will celebrate Hallowe’en with a “Come as you were” Sunday. There will be some seasonal treats to add to the day. If ever there was a year we needed some comic relief, this is it!

READ ALL ABOUT IT!

As we continue our move back to the “new” normal, we are excited to announce that the Holly Bazaar will return this year both online and in-person as a new merchandise vendor event taking place indoors and outdoors under tents.

Also returning this year.....

Trees/Wreathes/Poinsettias – We will be taking pre-orders for all these items and ask for payment at the time of pre-order. More info on pricing coming shortly.

Raffle Baskets – We need individuals to donate prepared “themed” baskets – think Basket of Cheer, Movie Night, Cozy up with a Good Book, Pasta Night, The 12 Days of Christmas, Game Night... you get the
idea. We ask that the basket reflect a minimum monetary value of $25. We are asking for adult themed baskets only. We already have parishioners who have committed to children’s themed baskets. Completed baskets must be turned in no later than Sunday, November 21, 2021. We have plenty of empty baskets if you need one to fill.

ECW Jewelry Table and a reimagined “All Saints Café.” More on the café to follow in the next few weeks.

Most importantly, we need volunteers in the following areas:

  • Set-up on Friday, December 3, 2021 (Time TBD shortly)
  • Staffing church tables on Saturday, December 4, 2021 (ECW Jewelry, Raffles, Trees and Wreaths, Poinsettias and the Café)
  • Clean-up on Saturday, December 4 (3-6 p.m.)

Finally, we will be setting up a Holly Bazaar Zoom meeting for Tuesday evening, October 26 at 8:00 p.m. We hope to see you there!

If you missed Saturday's latest installment of Major Tom's Coffee House, fear not.  You can watch the replay on our web site:  https://www.allsaintsepiscopalbayside.org/videos/2021/major-tom's-coffee-house-39.html

A simple coffee hour was held once again in the church yard.  May we continue to be blessed with beautiful weather for as many Sundays as possible.  However, we do need volunteers to help with set-up and clean-up.  We expect to have a coffee hour host sign-up sheet posted on the board soon.

The St. Cecelia Choir Needs You

It has been said that “those who sing pray twice.” If you like to sing,
please consider joining the choir. Rehearsals will be on Thursday evenings
from 7:30-9:00 and are a lot of fun as well as an opportunity to build your
skills. We are fortunate to have an excellent teacher leading us! If you would like to try it out, please speak to Arkady.

The Fall 2021 Fall Festival was a success as our first "event" since the pandemic and gave us insight as we prepare to host the 79th Annual Holly Bazaar (more on that to follow).  We sold out all the pumpkins, large and small, and we moved quite a bit of "treasure" from our thrift shop.  A total of $660 was raised.  A big thank you to all those who helped.

Sunday, October 31
Come As You Were Sunday (Halloween Fun)
We will be having a "Come As You Were Sunday"! Those attending the service are encouraged to wear what they wore to church during the Great Separation. It is going to be a wonderful celebration and we hope to see you there, but as with all major liturgies at All Saints the service will be live-streamed.

Sunday, November 7
All Saints Sunday
Join us for the celebration of our feast day and the one year anniversary of the return to in-person worship.  More to come.

Deadline for dropping off "Raffle Baskets" for the Holly Bazaar

Saturday, December 4
The Holly Bazaar Live and Online
10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Bayside's Favorite Christmas Fair, The Holly Bazaar is held every year on the first Saturday in December. The event features all sorts of vendors, food items, and kids activities. Held on the first weekend of December, the Holly Bazaar is All Saints’ signature annual fund (and fun) raiser. In addition to hosting vendors of new and attractive items ranging from handcrafted jewelry to stained glass to festive socks, the Bazaar is a showcase for the talents of several groups in the parish. Last year we launched our online version of the Holly Bazaar, while we hope to return to a more normal in-person event for 2021, the online event will also be taking place!

The Bottom of the Barrel
...is not something we want to see. As your circumstances permit, please continue to bring food for the food pantry. Food insecurity is a growing concern for many people right now.

Mother Karen shared with the Deanery clergy that demand at the food pantry is way up. All Saints has been a generous supplier, and hope we can continue to be.

Show your parish pride with “Church Merch,” “Sacred Swag” or whatever you call a great collection of custom T-shirts, drink-ware, and more available at the All Saints Shop! Visit via our website. Each item you buy helps to fund our mission and ministry.

The Ramsay Report is also looking for breaking news!  Have updates or information to share with the congregation, please email it to Stephanie.tonnesen@gmail.com.  Please put Ramsay Report News in the subject line.  Thanks!

Have a wonderful week!
