All Saints Episcopal Church Bayside
The Ramsay Report
Week of April 4, 2022
All Saints welcomed The Rt. Rev. R. William Franklin who led our services for the fifth Sunday in Lent at 10:00 a.m. yesterday, both in-person and online.
Bishop Franklin is Assisting Bishop of Long Island. He was Bishop of the Diocese of Western New York from 2011 – April 2019; and previously served at St. Mark's Church, Philadelphia; at St. Paul's Within the Walls in Rome, for five years; as Associate Director of the American Academy in Rome; and Associate Priest of the Anglican Centre in Rome. Earlier, he served as Dean of Berkeley Divinity School at Yale, as a professor at the General Theological Seminary in New York and at St. John's University in Minnesota. He holds a BA from Northwestern University and a Ph.D. in Church History from Harvard.
Bishop Franklin's sermon was enlightening and good preparation for Holy Week. Also, a beautiful offertory hymn was performed by some of All Saints youngest parishioners. If you missed Sunday's service, you can watch by clicking here. You can also view/download the bulletin here.
Finally, if your circumstances permit, please continue to keep your pledges up to date. You may do so by mail or online using Tithely. Simply click the donate button on the website or click here.
The Palm Sunday/Easter Church School episode is in production as we speak. Stay tuned for premiere date. If you missed any of the previous episodes, you can check them out here.
In the meanwhile, children of all ages should mark their calendar for the Good Friday Retreat on Friday, April 15, 2022 starting at 9:00 a.m. in the Common Room.
Finally, the children will be performing another hymn on Easter Sunday. Please see Mrs. Byrne and Arkady after church on Sunday for a brief rehearsal.

LENTEN FILM SERIES CONCLUDES THIS WEEK
Thank you to last week's host Marc Palmieri for the discussion around Crimes and Misdemeanors.
The final film for this year's lenten series is Evan Almighty. In this movie, see what happens when God contacts Congressman Evan Baxter and tells him to build an ark in preparation for a great flood. Karrie and Bridget Sheridan will lead the discussion that follows.

COFFEE HOUR IS BACK AND HOSTS ARE NEEDED
A simple coffee hour was held once again. However, we do need volunteers to help with set-up and clean-up.
Consider signing up to host a coffee hour...
the sign up sheet is posted on the board.
The main requirement is that portions be individually wrapped so that the food stays pristine.
The next edition of Major Tom's Coffee House at All Saint's Church in Bayside will be on Saturday April 23rd beginning at 7:00 p.m. LIVE only in the Common Room. We hope to see many of you and your friends!
THE BOTTOM OF THE BARREL...
...is not something we want to see. As your circumstances permit, please continue to bring food for the food pantry. Food insecurity continues to be a growing concern for many people right now.
Mother Karen shared with the Deanery clergy that demand at the food pantry is way up. All Saints has been a generous supplier, and hope we can continue to be.
Show your parish pride with “Church Merch,” “Sacred Swag” or whatever you call a great collection of custom T-shirts, drink-ware, and more available at the All Saints Shop! Visit via our website. Each item you buy helps to fund our mission and ministry.
The Ramsay Report is also looking for breaking news! Have updates or information to share with the congregation, please email it to Stephanie.email@example.com. Please put Ramsay Report News in the subject line. Thanks!
Have a wonderful week!
