We're about to experience serious construction in Chinatown.

Join us for updates from the City of Fresno and TPZP (high speed rail contractor). And we'll reveal the construction signage (that cone to the left is a clue) that we will be using to inform and entertain Chinatown customers.

Another feature of all community meetings this year will be a speaker about alleviating our capital desert (an area with difficulty in receiving funding for start-ups, expansion and improvements).

Sensible homeless sheltering.

Homelessness is a Fresno problem, as it is for cities around the country and the world. Finding shelter is a successful option, but clustering homeless housing is not. Miguel Arias, Council President representing District 3, is proposing that homeless shelters house no more than 50 people, and that these shelters be spread throughout the city.

Attend the Fresno City Council meeting, Thursday, February 13, in support of this proposal. More details later.
2020 Mills Act Program

The Mills Act is a California state law that allows cities to enter into contracts with the owners of historic structures. Such contracts require a reduction of property taxes in exchange for the continued preservation of the property.

The application period is now open! The current brochure and application packet are linked below. They will also be posted on the Historic Preservation web page under the tab “Economic Incentive Programs”
