Tiree's Great Yellow Bumblebee Project

Site at Baugh Church where we have been invited to plant wildflowers. We want to convert this...
...into this.
We’ve been invited to give Baugh Church some community Hebridean Flower Power by creating mini-machair GYBB habitat along the two sides of the building, and we’d be delighted if you could spare an hour to join in.
We need cobble shifters, weeders, wheelbarrow drivers, seed sprinklers, soil treaders and waterers. Please come along and do as little or as much as you feel like. Equipment for all ages will be provided, and there will be refreshments and fun activities for children. We look forward to seeing you there.

Unless it’s raining! All welcome
And while we're talking about all things floral, I'm delighted to report that the locally-harvested kidney vetch seeds that we planted about the island last Spring are now flowering - just as we hoped they would. So it's true - kidney vetch doesn't flower until its second year.
2nd year kidney vetch at Caoles now blooming
And the packets of Scotia Seed Bumblebee Mini-mix that we distributed to a few gardens last Spring, are also doing better in their second year, with lots of red-clover flowers coming on - a favourite of GYBBs. It's all so bloomin' marvellous. A massive thanks again to all participants, supporters and followers.
Last year's Bumblebee Mini-mix looking great.
Thank you for your interest and support.
Best wishes
