We're shifting gears and I need your input!

Hybrid Church has begun. We want our in-person and on-line experiences to compliment one another and help you lead your families in faith! Help steer my efforts in the coming months by answering four quick questions for a Spring Check-In.

As a thanks for your time, I'll send you the audiobook of Don't Miss It: parent like every week counts by Reggie Joiner and Kirsten Ivy. It's packed with simple insight to make the most of our kids' weeks with us, and impact them forever.

Grab your packets this week! Our Zoom meeting on 4/7 will include doing a craft together that you'll find in your packet.

4/14: No Zoom. Joel Sungren will be leading Lawn Games at the church instead.
4/21: No Zoom. There will be a backyard pizza & movie night at the Holter's. Please RSVP to help us plan for pizza!

Should the weather interfere with either event, a decision will be made before the regular, Wednesday email the church sends out.

Join the general email list to receive those weekly updates, if you don't already!

Here are your other essentials:

  1. LESSON VIDEOS: If you haven't already, subscribe to the CYF YouTube channel. On Sundays, Kid's lessons post by 8AM, youth by 9AM.
  2. ZOOM MEETUP: Play a game, touch base with friends, and review the lesson. Here's the link. [Meeting ID: 813 6264 8316; Password: FBC]
  3. IN-PERSON WORSHIP: Reservations and masks are required, and children stay with their families. RSVP here.
  4. LIVE-STREAM: The at-home worship experience will continue to air at 10AM on Sundays on the church website.
Our church collected almost 200 pairs of shoes! Way to go, Church! In the competition between youth and kids, it was VERY CLOSE, but the youth beat the kids by just a couple pairs! Since the shoe drive was so successful, everyone gets a pizza and movie party at the Holter's on the 21st!

Throughout the month of April, our kids lessons will help us explore reconciliation, starting with the Good News of Easter -- that Jesus is our bridge back to God -- and considering the ways we can be peacemakers in our own families and communities.

Remember to grab your supply packets for Children's Moment goodies and the Easter craft!

If you've subscribed to the CYF YouTube Channel and "liked" First Baptist on Facebook, you should find everything you need posted, along with some reminders along the way.

Our next youth series is timely, as our social lives are again shifting, as things reopen and resume. We'll have a three-week series about trusting and following God’s plan even when He leads us through unfamiliar territory.

WEEK 1: Small steps lead to big places.
WEEK 2: God sees more than our mess.
WEEK 3: God can change the way you see Him.

Pick up a supply packet to deepen your learning with daily devotions, to enjoy the goodies for the Children's Moments (just in case you've wanted to play along), and to have your craft supplies for Easter week.

For all the videos and resources, check out the CYF YouTube Channel and if you've "liked" FBCdsm's Youth Group on Facebook, links will post to remind you, as well.

If you would like to get in on the fun, everything you need for the GooseChase or the self-guided tour is here! I hope you'll enjoy this interactive journey, that revisits the events of the Passion and explores downtown landmarks.

Our Mid-ABC Church Camps are ready to roll for a fantastic relaunch this summer! COVID safety plans are in place, with high hopes that we'll have the "all clear" before camping even starts.

To support our camps and give our kids a needed opportunity to grow in faith, explore, and socialize, FBC's Christian Education Committee is offering to reduce the cost of camp to $20 for our FBC campers!

Camp brochures and links to details and schedules are available on the Mid-ABC website.

Already know your camp of choice?
Fill out the registration for Forest Lake or Dayton Oaks and return it to the church with your $20 deposit by 4/28 or $45 after that.

SECIAL NOTE: Pastor Emily will be leading Forest Lake's Contact Camp the last week of July and would love to have some FBC Campers there!

Holy Week is upon us! It's the perfect time to pause, take a deep breath, and remember the absolutely unfathomable love that God showed us through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus.

If you have a kid who has recognized the incredible value of that kind of hope and love in their life and wants to follow Jesus and be baptized, I'd love to lead them in a Baptism Class!

May that hope and love enrich and bless you, as well, at Easter and always.

He is Risen!
Pastor Emily

P.S. I'm taking a couple weeks off in April. I've tried to ensure that things will be covered for your family, but if anything comes up between the 9th and 24th, please reach out to the pastors or the church office for assistance.
