Holding Your Own

Does it feel like you're trying to build a family routine on shifting sand? We can't control the positivity rates or the school board, but we can give you the best possible resources to keep your family rooted in your faith. In a God who is bigger and offers more love and hope than anything else you're tempted to rely on.

I hope you are or will take advantage of the Zoom meetings, lessons, and fun supplies that help your family stay connect: to God, to one another, and to your community of faith.

For both kids and youth, we are continuing our weekly programming and monthly supplemental resources.

  1. GOODY PACKETS: Swing by the church anytime, starting the last week of each month to pick up a supply packet from the brown deck box under the overhang. We'll give each kid and youth some great extras they'll love using all month! Let us know you're coming so we're sure to have enough!
  2. WEDNESDAY NIGHT ACTIVITIES: We're continuing to offer virtual gatherings at 6:30PM each week. To make it easy, it's the same Zoom link every week.

Find the Children's Lessons and activities on YouTube every Sunday. Parents can utilize a tablet and ear buds for the kids to get their lesson while the adults are able to focus on worship.

Subscribe to CYF YouTube Channel for an easy link. The printable guide is always in the comments. If you've "liked" First Baptist on Facebook, links will post each week to remind you.

Our November Theme is "Shout Out: let 'em know you're thankful." I think you should be at the top of our list these days! You're doing hard things and loving your families well.

Youth lessons are also available on Sundays so that your family can have flexibility in finding the right time to view it before youth group on Wednesday night.

Check out the CYF YouTube Channel and if you've "liked" FBCdsm's Youth Group on Facebook, links will post each week to remind you.

This month we're finishing our first series of the year, "Vital:love God, love others, love life." It's been a great series about following the Greatest Commandment by loving God, others, and ourselves. We'll take a break November 18th & 25th before starting our Christmas Series the first Wednesday in December. The time off would be a perfect time to head over the church to spend some time adding to and praying for the concerns and praises on the Prayer Wall under the portico.

Finally: our annual fall gift is available now! Many youth already received them at the Pumpkin Display, but if your student hasn't, contact Pastor Emily to arrange to get your FBCdsm Youth Group Goodies!

Guides have been mailed to your youth. Join in on the IG & FB fun by following the Mid-ABC Youth Team. We'll learn and play together from afar! There will be daily prizes and a Grand Prize of $50 on Amazon!

If you have a good laugh to share, or if you are coming to the end of your rope and need help finding the resources you need to keep going, I'm here. Just shoot me a note!
