VBS 2020 - Day 5 Parent Cue

Friday Already?!?

We hope you've had a wonderful week of dancing, singing, crafting, learning, and laughing together, as you took a closer look at what it means to have faith.

Parents, your presence, grace, and faith leadership are so valuable to your kids, as we are navigating this unprecedented summer. If you have discovered things together, if you have questions that are lingering, or if you have had a child make a faith decision that you'd like us to celebrate together, please contact Pastor Emily to share about it! She'd love to support and celebrate with you. Even better -- send a picture of video!

TSHIRT NEWS: for families that ordered T-shirts, they are scheduled to arrive this weekend! Let me know if you're able to pick them up Between 11-11:30AM on Sunday at church, or if I should take yours to my house to arrange a pickup closer to Ankeny.

Let's have one more great day together! Find today's materials here.

DO THIS:

 MORNING TIME

Write a quick note and stick it on your child’s door or mirror for them to see: “Love God and love others because love always wins!”

FAITH:
TRUSTING IN WHAT YOU CAN'T SEE BECAUSE OF WHAT YOU CAN SEE
FROM PARENT CUE:
THE WORK OF TEACHING KIDS
TO VALUE EVERYONE
By Nina Lauren Terrell

“I will never be friends with Will*! He has a funny looking hand, and I will never play with him!” my 4-year-old passionately declared the moment she climbed in the backseat of our car after her first day of pre-k.

I froze, eyes wide, mouth open. My eyes flicked to the rearview mirror where I could see my little girl, scowling, arms crossed over her new navy dress with the words “BE KIND” spelled out in sequins. Where had I gone wrong? How had I missed the signs that I was raising a monster?? What were the magic words I had to say to reverse this immediately? . . .
