Message from the President
Welcome to this issue of the ECCI Express! Thanks to all who attended last months AGM, To read a copy President's Report click here. and to view a copy of the Minutes, please click here.

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce our newly appointed committee:

President – David Gillespie
Vice President – Jackie Brooks
Secretary – Sarah Booth
Treasurer – Mark Hawker
Committee Members: Jules Bush, Steve Riley, Justin Ayres and Gary Mounsey.

The team is ready to represent our membership and we look forward to your involvement also.

Over the past 12 months, ECCI has successfully petitioned the government and industry to create opportunities to promote, sustain and grow Exmouth businesses in what was an extremely challenging year.  ECCI has hit the ground running with Sarah, our newly appointed Operations and Project Officer consolidating the initiatives we have committed to for the benefits of the Exmouth Business Community.
Our strong industry partnerships continue to grow with ongoing substantial support from Woodside, Santos, Horizon Power, BHP, the WA government, and the Shire of Exmouth.
The Shire of Exmouth is working hard along with local trades to ensure the building is ready for the Exmouth Business Hub facilities to open in the coming months. The official opening date will be announced shortly. The EOI for the opportunity to lease office space prompted some solid enquires from a range of enterprises. Be sure not to miss out and submit your EOI

Worker Housing Update
Unfortunately, one of the sought-after solutions to use existing overflow caravan campsites for workers accommodation was unsuccessful.

However, the Exmouth Chamber of Commerce and the Shire of Exmouth have further investigated the concept of developing a new more permanent worker village. Last week we welcomed a visit from the Hon Alannah MacTiernan, MLC, Minister for Regional Development and are happy to announce if re-elected, will assist in releasing the identified site and open the EOI for private developers to submit applications for this project by the end of April 2021. This is a significant move forward in our efforts to finding a solution to this problem.

We will continue to keep you all up to date of further developments.
Members Survey Results
Thank you to all who completed the recent 2020 member survey.

Overall the survey provided valuable information and feedback and has provided a great insight into what types of training initiates we should be looking at offering in 2021.

Key Take-Aways:

70% of respondents said ECCI has assisted in Increasing business confidence followed by 35.3% saying we have helped build economic viability in there business.

70% responded yes when asked if the workshops delivered by ECCI helped to identify gaps in their business capability or identify any other barriers.

The main gaps identified included:
1. Marketing / Social Media / Digital Marketing & Websites
2. Maintaining
Brand Consistency
3. Keeping up to date with local information
4. Legal terms of service
5. Cybersecurity awareness
6. General

94% of respondents believe Woodside's sponsorship of the Exmouth Business Accelerator program has had a positive impact on the local Exmouth business community.
Completing surveys can be time-consuming; however, it is imperative that everyone takes the time to complete them as it is a crucial part of our funding agreements and without valuable feedback, future funding could be denied.
Exmouth Business Hub
Works are underway converting the old shire office to become the Exmouth Business Hub. Works being completed by the Shire include planting, replacing ceilings, lighting, electrical works, plumbing, airconditioning and flooring. The transformation is all well underway and estimated for completion by the start of April. We thank, the Shire and the local trades for working hard to get this huge job completed as quickly as possible.

ECCI will commence our part of the fit-out thanks to funds from BHP, Horizon Power and the State Government RED Grant which will include office furniture, AV equipment, printing facilities, security technology, signage, WIFI, telephone system just to name a few.

Offical expressions of interest are now opened for the 7 office spaces that will be available. Details of these spaces and the facilities of the hub can be found by clicking here.

Tenants should be able to move in early May, however, stay tuned for the official opening date to be announced shortly!
