Dear RGC Family and Friends,

Back in March, 32 weeks ago, we started sending emails on Tuesdays and Saturdays to help make sure that we all stayed “together” when our regular church life was suddenly disrupted. Today, we want to let you know that we’re going to discontinue the Tuesday email so that we can take one step back toward resuming our normal communication cadence with the church (the RGC Connect on Thursdays and the Sunday Service Follow-Up on Sundays), with occasional targeted emails (like the FAQs email coming later this week). For the time being, we’ll continue to send out the Saturday emails in preparation for the Sunday meeting; however, at some point in the future, we may discontinue those as well.

So, why are we doing this now? First, we’ve found that over-communicating in the midst of a crisis is a good thing, but after a while it can become redundant. Over time, we’ve seen that the readership for the Tuesday emails has not remained strong. Second, there are other pressing matters related to preparing for Sunday meetings, pastoring the flock, and tending to other church-related matters that need our attention at this time. If needed, we can always resume them, but for now, we believe this is a good time to reduce some over-communication.
