Elementary Chapel

ACA's Assistant Principal of Academics, Mrs. Beatty spoke during chapel on the power of our words. She used the example of how a hammer can be used as a tool to build up, or it can be hurtful when it hits your thumb. It was a powerful message for our students to be challenged with on how they are using their words to either build up and encourage one another to be all that God intended or to be reckless with our words and cause hurt. 1 Thessalonians 5:11 and Proverbs 12:18 were used to remind our students of what God's Word says about the way we use our words.

Secondary Chapel

What a powerful message we heard in chapel this week!  Mrs. Beatty brought in an actual cow tongue as an illustration as she taught us about the power of our words.  Our words have the power to speak life but also the power to speak death.  They can determine direction but can also determine destruction.  Mrs. Beatty highlighted Proverbs 12:18, "The words of the reckless pierce like swords, but the tongue of the wise brings healing."  She wrapped up the message by encouraging the students not to forget to use their words to speak up!  Whether we need to help a friend to make better choices or invite someone to church and tell them about Jesus, it's up to us to understand the power of our words.  Thank you, Mrs. Beatty!
