WY-FI Newsletter: August 2020
Welcome to the August edition of the WY-FI Newsletter. This month, there's a new report out from Fulfilling Lives Evaluation, and we've also made some tweaks to our website navigation to make it easier to access the full range of local and national reports from them.

We also highlight two papers relating to offending and reoffending - one considering the impact of COVID on prisons, and the other looking at trauma informed practice and probation.
Closing down beneficiary support projects - new report out now
WY-FI has worked with other Fulfilling Lives projects and CFE Research to produce a new Fulfilling Lives Evaluation report.
The report includes learning and recommendations for projects where direct work supporting people has, or is coming to an end, drawing on the experiences and perspectives of staff in various roles at four Fulfilling Lives partnerships, including WY-FI.

New website navigation
We've made some tweaks to the 'Reports' area of the WY-FI website, making it quicker and easier for you to access the full collection of local and national reports on the Fulfilling Lives Evaluation website.
We've created a drop down selection from our main menu, so that in just a couple of clicks, you can access reports from WY-FI and other Fulfilling Lives projects, as well as national reports and evaluation.

We've also created a page containing more general information about the work of the Fulfilling Lives Evaluation Team.

COVID-19 and the impact on prisons
The House of Commons Justice Committee has published a report looking at the impact of COVID-19 on prisons, and the response of the Ministry of Justice and Her Majesty's Prison and Probation Service.
The report considers the impact of COVID-19 on regime changes, prison populations and children and young people in the custodial estate.

Trauma Informed Practice and Probation
Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Probation has published an academic insights paper on trauma-informed practice.
Our workforce development team already recognises the importance of using trauma-informed approaches to support people with offending, re-offending and other needs.

Our Reflective Practice Groups have a strong trauma-informed focus and are an excellent opportunity to meet with other professionals from the sector to share learning and best practice.
