Help Keep Our “Net of Compassion” Strong!

Dear Friend,

We talk a lot about Net of Compassion being a safety net made up of interwoven strings. These individual strings – our volunteers, recovery coaches, mentors, case workers, and donors like you – form a strong and durable net because they work together, united through your philanthropy.

As we fast approach the end of our fiscal year, some of those strings are at risk of coming undone…

A Struggle To Meet The Demand

Demand for shelter, meals and showers has been unprecedented. For 231 days and nights, we kept the doors to Hotel Grace open. Meals on Main Street were served every single Saturday. More than 40 showers a day were taken at Joshua’s Showers. Grace Pantry and Grace Closet opened weekly to distribute food and clothing to hundreds of individuals. But through the struggle, these services and the miracles they wrought happened because of donors like you.

Hotel Grace remained open through May 22, 2022, but after closing, guests must return to the streets. Being open year-round is what our community needs.

The Year Ahead Will Ask More Of Us…

The number of individuals who need shelter is sure to grow in the year ahead, but funding for Hotel Grace is uncertain. We are working day and night to find solutions and support that will allow us to keep the doors of Hotel Grace open year round. Our community needs it! But to make that happen we need every string of our net to be strong enough to stretch even a little further — we need every donor who has ever been kind enough to make a gift, to do so again.

The volume of individuals arriving for Saturday Meals on Main Street is on the rise.
