Volunteers Make All The Difference!

Dear Friend,

Our volunteers help year-round to do the important work to serve those in need—we celebrate them every day! But, April is a special because it's National Volunteer Month. This issue features a post from our blog, Restoring Hope, Rebuilding Lives, about former guests Shawn and Tammi who recently returned as volunteers to serve dinner and give back to Hotel Grace. Local Musicians, the Turn It Down!! All-Stars and Big League Collective have volunteered to perform a benefit concert at Brick Box Theater on May 4. We couldn't possibly feature all our volunteers in one issue, so be on the lookout for more volunteer stories. Please enjoy this newsletter and consider attending one of our upcoming events!

...and thank you for all of your support!

Once Guests, Now Volunteers at Hotel Grace...

“Hotel Grace Gave Us Our Life Back.”

by Danielle Cutillo

Hotel Grace is more than just an emergency shelter for those who are experiencing homelessness. It is a safe space for anyone to enter, no matter where they are coming from or what condition they may be in. Rules are put in place to keep the guests safe. It’s a place where one can laugh, joke around, and be themselves. Around Christmas time decorations were hung around the shelter and guests made gingerbread houses. It’s a home where they pray before dinner and clean up when finished. It’s where one can find groups of friends who start out as strangers and now look out for each other, wanting to see each other succeed. It’s a family.

Recently, two members of the Hotel Grace family came to visit. Meet Shawn and Tammi. They were two of Hotel Grace’s first guests back in 2016, but this season they returned as volunteers.
