Support for Small Business operators affected either directly or indirectly by the recent bushfires are the target of a series of community information sessions being conducted throughout Northern Victoria.
Organisers, AgBiz Assist, have an enviable reputation for the frontline delivery of financial counselling and encourage all small business operators impacted by the fires to take advantage of these sessions.
The recently updated CPA Australia Disaster Recovery Toolkit, which was initially developed in response to the 2009 fires, will be freely available at the sessions along with lots of helpful information from the participating organisations.
These invaluable resources include checklists and templates to provide a step by step guide to taking stock of the current situation, establishing a baseline and identifying options to assist in the development of a comprehensive recovery plan.
There will be ample opportunities after the brief presentations for attendees to chat with the speakers and arrange follow up appointments.
Speakers and stakeholders in attendance include:
AgBiz Assist availability of grants and support for small business
● CPA Australia – disaster recovery toolkit and working with your accountant
● Department of Industry – the role of the department in recovery
● Australian Taxation Office – tax relief measures, taxation implications on grants, donations and insurance claims plus Capital Gains Tax on lost assets.
