Me Made

This week I have written and rewritten this newsletter. The reason why? I’m having a creative block and I’m feeling really uninspired. Now if I’m really honest I considered leaving the newsletter for this week until I felt inspired. But I figured that the reason I write this is for some Monday motivation, so why not use my lack of inspiration as a motivation to find some?

Now these feelings could be down to the weather because it is really miserable. When it’s cold I could be staying in to sew but I basically feel like I want to create but don’t feel inspired to.

Does anyone else get like that?

So I’m not going to dwell, instead I want to look at a positive highlight of the week. Tomorrow is the start of May and we all know what that means... Me Made May is here! I’m pretty sure we all know what it is but if you don’t then you can find out more about it here at So Zo’s Blog. I’m going to use this as motivation to feel inspired, starting by sorting out my wardrobe and uncovering some forgotten Me Made gems that have been hidden away.

My personal pledge is to use it as an opportunity to get more wear out of what I have. I'm going to use it as a chance to play with styling, so my plan is wear Me Made everyday but with a focus on styling things in different ways. There will be wonderful looks popping up everywhere and you can follow my makes over on Instagram.

For example, one of my personal challenges is that every Monday of May I am going to wear the same item of clothing (washed of course!)  But every Monday I will then show you how I style that one item in different ways via my Instagram Stories Monday Outfit Recipe. Basically, I will be styling one item four ways with a hope that it will show how versatile items in your wardrobe can be. I'm yet to choose which piece it will be so if you have any ideas of what you'd like to see let me know.

Alongside that, I will not be making anything specifically for Me Made May and will be wearing as much of what I have as I can. Anything that will be made are things I will have had lined up anyway, I’m only human and have some plans for some new makes for my trip to New York.

With the weather being so unpredictable who knows what we’ll all be wearing as the month progresses. Funnily for me I’ll be starting Me Made May in cold England and finishing it in New York so I have no real idea what I’ll be wearing by the end. But I do plan to channel one my favourite Youtubers, B Jone Style and Always Play Dress Up!

What’s your Me Made May pledge?
