Introducing our New Development and Marketing Director

We are thrilled to welcome Rhonda Manville to the team as our new Development and Marketing Director! Rhonda comes to us with a wealth of fundraising, capital campaign and marketing experience, most recently with Seattle Humane and Kitsap Humane Society. Rhonda is delighted to join our mission and to assist in raising funds and awareness for our work. She looks forward to meeting you!

Puppy of the Month: Gidget!

Gidget is a happy and playful 3-month-old puppy from the adorable G Litter. She lives on Oahu with first-time puppy raiser, Kathy Egan, and her family. Gidget is in the Kindergarten Puppy Class, where she is learning several new skills each week. She enjoys playing, and her favorite toy is a stuffed animal that laughs when she chews on it. Thank you, Kathy, for giving Gidget such a great start to her career as an Assistance Dog!

Graduate Spotlight: Stephanie and Scout

Stephanie and Scout have been partners for over six years and are an important part of the ADH ohana. Stephanie also participates in our Ka Lima O Maui Community Outreach Group. As a way to give back, her family has volunteered to puppy-raise Vida, one of our puppies in training. While the family is spending more time at home during the pandemic, Scout keeps everyone's spirits high with his friendly and cheerful personality.

Happy Howl-o-ween!

This month, the advanced dogs-in-training took a field trip to the Kula Farms pumpkin patch. This was a great opportunity to experience a new environment with enticing sights and smells...perfect for distraction training. Click here to see their "thrilling" HOWL-O-WEEN Night video!

Cheers for Student Volunteers!

We love it when students get involved in our mission! Skylar, a Seabury Hall student, is interested in Service Dog training and how Assistance Dogs improve the lives of people with limited mobility and other special needs. That's why she chose ADH as her 8th grade mentorship project. She has been learning about Assistance Dog training by shadowing Sydney, our program assistant, and also lending a hand by bathing dogs, sweeping kennels and helping where needed. Thanks for joining our team, Skylar!
Please support Assistance Dogs of Hawaii and help change the life of someone with a physical disability or other special need. Donations of all amounts are greatly appreciated.
