Training at King County District Court
Advanced Dogs in Training, Hudson and Gilligan, had the opportunity to visit a courtroom this month in Seattle. They were enthusiastically welcomed by the judge and staff! They practiced going through metal detectors and security, riding in elevators, and sitting in the witness stand. Courthouse Dogs provide children who are victims of crime, comfort and strength during the difficult legal process.
Graduate Update: Mike and Brittney
Mike and Brittany were partnered 2 years ago and they have been best friends ever since! Brittany helps Mike by opening and closing doors, bringing him his jacket, picking up items from the floor, and tugging off his shoes, socks and slacks. Their daily  walks are their favorite time together. Brittany loves to greet "the regulars" on these walks, and is often praised for her good behavior. Brittany is always by Mike's side, ready to lend a paw!
Therapy Dog Teams Complete Training
Congratulations to 2 teams who successfully completed Therapy Dog training at ADNW this month. This course consisted of class time, lectures, proper dog handling, a written exam and a final working exam where participants had to complete a variety of tasks with their dog. Therapy Dog teams are able to visit Assisted Living facilities, libraries and schools. Shown above are Cynthia Parker with Aslan and Theresa Olson with Piper. Stay tuned for more teams to graduate in the coming months!
