ASSISTANCE DOGS NORTHWEST - JANUARY 2021

Welcome New Interns

Meet our newest interns - Sarit Brinn and Emily Stauffer! Sarit (above, left) comes from Israel where she studied and received certification in dog training and dog assisted therapy. She hopes to bring new knowledge about Assistance Dogs back to Israel once her internship is complete. Emily (above, right) comes from West Virginia where she received a degree in Animal and Nutritional Sciences and was a puppy-raiser and assistant service dog trainer for many years. We love their positive, "can do" attitude! They are doing a wonderful job with the dogs in the Advanced Training Class.

"C" Litter is Back on Campus!

Those cute little puppies born on New Year's Day 2020 are now one year old. They have recently returned to campus along with their classmate, Finlay, and are officially in Advanced Training. They have been lovingly cared for this past year by volunteer puppy raisers, who welcomed these future heroes into their homes, guided them through Kindergarten and Basic Training, and helped them on their way to success. Pictured above from left to right are Cleo, Cedar, Casey, Champ, Finlay and Coco.

Introducing Hudson!

Hudson is a 4-month old yellow Labrador puppy who loves people and is very curious about his surroundings. He enjoys learning and is doing very well in Kindergarten Training with his puppy-raisers, Joanna and Bill Dooris. Hudson excels in "sit/stay", "go to bed" and likes the interactive puzzles. He loves car rides and visiting the ADNW campus to play with the older dogs. Thank you, Joanna and Bill, for all the love and dedication you're giving this future hero-in-training!
