Courageous Girls Leaders,

As a Courageous Girls community we are focusing on being ROOTED in 2021. What does it mean as a Courageous Girl leader to be rooted? One measurement of being rooted is GROWING. We GROW strong roots by strengthening through struggle, personally developing and learning and deepening relationships

                                             Strong roots are deep roots.

Here are 3 WAYS to GROW your roots as a Courageous Girls Leader and Community for 2021.
1. Deepen IDENTITY

You have probably heard about the upcoming 5-week study of Courageous: Being Daughters Rooted in Grace with Terra! The Courageous Study is a valuable resource for you as a leader and for you to deepen your mama connections.
As a CG leader, we are offering you two ways to win a 90-min coaching consultations with CG co-founder, Terra! This is a personal 1:1 time to connect with Terra on anything you’d like.

There are 2 ways to be entered into this drawing. (Each way is an entry into the drawing.)

  1. Register your entire CG group for the Courageous Book Study by Jan 31st.
  2. Make sure your entire CG group is following Courageous Girls via Facebook or IG.

Simply register your group, follow CG @mycourageousgirls on IG or FB, and email info@mycourageousgirls that you have done one or both of the options above. Your name will then be entered into the drawing to receive the coaching consultations.

Start your year off with roots where you need them most. The 5-week study starts Wednesday, February 3, 2021 and will meet each Wednesday from 10:00 – 11:00 AM (PST) through March 3.

Register is limited!

As a CG leader, mama, daughter, friend, you wear a lot of hats. It can feel like there is never enough time to get it all done!  To GROW in relationships with your daughter, CG group, and with family we wanted to share two ideas with you.

  1. Schedule 30 MINUTES a week of focused intentional time with the child or person you'd like to deepen in relationship with. This might feel like such a small amount of time but it can do WONDERS for any relationship. The CG January Newsletter  has ideas on ways to carve out this critical time.
  2. Another little tip that pays big dividends is to seek to understand yourself, family members, and Courageous Girls group members better by learning the Core Values Index (CVI). This test can be taken through Living Wholehearted and Jeff & Terra Mattson shared how to practically love others well in some of their first podcasts. Keep your eyes open for another CVI podcast coming soon. Feel free to reach out to our CG leadership coaches for personalized consultation or CVI retreats this year. Email for more information.

Compassion, the kind Jesus modeled, means to suffer with. Deepening our compassion, empathy, and understanding for one another is a core value of Courageous Girls.
This Month, with the celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Black History month in February, we wanted to provide a few tangible resources to support your growth as a CG Leader and the CG Group that you are shepherding.
  1. We have curated a resource list to support further understanding and compassion on racism and racial reconciliation. Perhaps you and your group can select a book to study together over the course of the year, or maybe bring in a new genre of music for your group to listen to during a craft, or perhaps you and/or your group are interested in furthering your understanding of race and would like to sign up for a future virtual cohort in the Race Literacy Class or Be the Bridge.
  2. We wanted to share this powerful blog with you that was written by CG Mama Joi Haily Preparing My Children to Face Racism | Courageous Girls (
  3. CG is getting SO close to providing our CG curriculum in Spanish, which would allow more moms and daughters to participate in the CG Movement and honor their cultural background. We are getting closer to our funding goal but still need your help! If you would like to partner, you can go here.

Leaders, you will NOT want to miss this incredible story shared by CG Mama, Amy Oliver.

Whether you have a daughter (or son) turning double digits, becoming a teenager, or turning 16, you will want to catch this beautiful story.  Amy shares how she found an innovative and beautiful way to rise above the noise of tween and teen culture to speak the truth of how love is defined and point her daughter’s heart to her Maker.
  1. Pray
  2. Continue being faithful to your CG Group
