Upcoming and recent opportunities 


Youth Out Loud media volunteer
Youth Out Loud have an exciting opportunity for young people based in Kingston/Richmond to get involved in the media side of their company. They are looking for 2 young people to voluntarily manage their social media accounts, and up to 10 young volunteers to assist with the creation of their podcast, in which they discuss wellbeing topics that are important for young people. Greater London careers fair
This careers fair is a great opportunity to explore the employment opportunities throughout Greater London. This virtual event takes place on 20 January 2021. Tickets are free, however, you will still need to book a space. Click here to get your ticket. 

Police Force careers webinar
On 12 January 2021, there will be a free, live webinar to inform young people about the career opportunities within the force and how you can apply. This will begin at 1:25pm until 2:00pm, and you will need to book a space if you would like to attend. Click here to book a ticket.

Harlequin Hitz programme
Harlequin F.C are now recruiting young people to join their Hitz programme which is due to start in January. During this programme, you can complete a BTEC level 1 course in sports and active leisure, a work experience placement, and maths and English functional skills. This programme will last from January until July. and is open to those aged 16-19, however, they will also accept young people aged 16-24 if they have an EHCP. To find out more, click here

NHS vaccine volunteering
NHS are preparing for a large delivery of Coronavirus vaccines, meaning they will need all the support they can get. Currently they are advertising a volunteering position based in Woking, Surrey, in which you would be responsible for managing the flow of patients waiting for the vaccine. Remote STEM-based lessons
Here you can find remote STEM-based lessons aimed at those aged 16-19. These videos act as virtual lessons so you can learn from home. So far, they have covered topics such as photosynthesis, nuclear physics, and more. Click here to view.

Getting the most out of online learning
There are many options to choose from when learning virtually, but it can be hard to be as motivated online as you would be in person. This article by GOV.uk advises you on how to get the most out of online learning, and provides straight-forward guidelines on how you can prepare yourself and your workspace for a productive lesson. Create a professional online presence
This online course can teach you everything you may need to know about your existing online presence and how you can maintain it's professionalism, the benefits of a professional online presence, and how to tidy up your virtual footprint to remove anything that may hinder you in finding a job.
